June 6th every year is National Eye-Love Day. Eyes are one of the most important organs in human senses, and improper use of eyes is a bad habit. 1992, Geng, a professor of ophthalmology and epidemiology at Tianjin Medical University, initiated the establishment of Eye-Love Day for the first time in China, and the initiative received a response, and May 5 of each year was designated as the National Eye-Love Day.
1996, June 6th of each year was redefined as National Eye-Love Day, and March of 20021. In order to improve the decision-making level of children's and adolescents' vision health management, such as myopia prevention and control, and promote the scientific development of children's and adolescents' vision health, National Health Commission decided to set up a national expert advisory committee on children's and adolescents' vision health management.
The development history of Eye-Love Day:
On September 25th, 1992, Geng, a professor of ophthalmology and epidemiology at Tianjin Medical University, made the first initiative to hold the first seminar of National Eye Love Day in Tianjin. This initiative was responded by ophthalmologists and experts, and it was decided that May 5th of each year would be the National Eye Care Day. On May 5th, 1993, Tianjin held the first publicity activity of the day.
Affected by this, starting from 1994, large and medium-sized cities in China, such as Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou, held free consultation activities on May 5 to publicize the significance of Eye-Love Day. 196, the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Education, the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League, the China Disabled Persons' Federation and other ministries and commissions jointly issued a notice, which listed Eye-Love Day as one of the national festivals.
