During the Spring Festival in 2002, Sun Xiaomei and Dashan co-hosted a special program "Happy New Year" on CCTV. The prize-winning activities in the program aroused the enthusiastic attention of the audience, especially the couplet put forward in the name of Dashan: "Mountain King Dashan". After the program was broadcast, China Couplet Society received more than ten thousand letters from the audience 10, with more than half a million conversations. Although the campaign has long since ended, the best antithesis has not been decided, and "Mountain King Mountain" has thus become a "quatrain".

Is there a dialogue that can meet the requirements of the couplets? According to the person in charge of the society, "with the development of the times and the change and enrichment of Chinese vocabulary, someone will eventually match' absolute' with a suitable' couple'." Today, a few years later, Couplets and Dashan themselves often receive letters from the audience, but so far this "mystery" has not been solved.

Four Requirements of China Couplet Society for Conversation

1) consists of two fixed nouns: "Mountain King" and "Mountain";

2) palindromes are formed before and after, just like reading backwards;

3) A disyllabic word similar to "Da" appears (the word "Da" is pronounced Dai and the word "Da" is pronounced Da);

4) There are five words in the sentence, and the shape of each word is symmetrical left and right, which is a "mirror image". Then on the glass, the font on the front and back is the same.

After the program was broadcast, the audience's response was very enthusiastic, but no dialogue could meet all the requirements of this sentence.

Recruitment award vacancy

On the occasion of the Spring Festival in 2003, the selection team of China Couplet Society made a detailed review of the dialogues received in the past year. Taiping Liu, Permanent Secretary and Program Writer of the Society, participated in the evaluation. The results of the review have not yet judged the best confrontation of "Mountain King Mountain".

Chang Jiang, vice president of China Couplet Society, personally presided over the selection of couplets. He said: "None of the organizers and judges of the couplets are willing to leave this award empty. They will all award prizes and pay them to the couplet Lord accordingly. " However, it is normal and a serious and responsible attitude to have vacancies. "

The antitheses such as "An employee works for someone" and "Rainfall measurement and rain" in the final of "Mountain King, Mountain" all meet the requirements of "backward reading", "mirror image" and "multi-tone in one word", but they do not meet the requirements of "two inherent nouns". Judging from the works that entered the final review, the last of the four difficulties is "two proper nouns".

In addition, this sentence requires the sentence to end with a hyphen, which also limits many excellent sentences, such as "Koryo".

A student from Tsinghua personally went to the location of the Associated Press and discussed with the selection team for a long time about his "Xidan Ren Dan Xixi" antithesis. This is one of the seven antithetical sentences that he drew up after analyzing all the polyphones and ambigrams in Chinese characters one by one by means of statistics and arrangement. It is ok to read polyphony backwards, and mirror image can also be said, but it is difficult to match sentences when it comes to established terms. "Mountain King" is a conventional title. "Dashan" is a famous star in the contemporary comic dialogue entertainment circle. "Xidan people" is obviously not a conventional word. It belongs to the author's own compound word, which refers to "people living in Xidan, Beijing", while "mountain" belongs to a nonexistent one. A name that can't be widely known, or a virtual name, can hardly be compared with the name of a real celebrity. If the required standard is lowered, there will be many similar works. Choosing any one of them as the winning dialogue will be difficult to convince the public and have a great negative effect. The author will certainly be psychologically more difficult to accept than continuing to be vacant.

Due to the unique unity of sound, form and meaning in Chinese and the formal requirements of couplet art, it is normal for some ingenious sentences to form "absolute" for a period of time. However, with the development of the times and the change and enrichment of Chinese vocabulary, there will always be someone who matches "absolute" with a suitable "couple".
