In fact, the argument that gasoline in China is not as good as that in foreign countries has been heard all the time. After being constantly refuted by the data, some people on the Internet are now blowing the "gasoline impurity theory". We don't know where these arguments come from, but we can objectively demonstrate them and see if they are valid!
Is there much impurity in gasoline in China?
Oil filter: Do you know what this is?
Let's first analyze how many impurities in domestic gasoline will enter the car and what harm it will do to the car: in fact, any regular gas station (I mean regular! Please note that after gasoline is pumped out of the fuel tank, it will go through several times of "oil-water separation" and filtration. For example, the first filtration after gasoline pumping is called "coarse filtration", and the filter element of coarse filtration is usually stainless steel "mat net".
What is a cushion net? Let me explain it directly with pictures! As long as you remember one thing, the filtering accuracy of this kind of net is much higher than that of ordinary metal net. Usually, the density of the first "rough filtration" stainless steel filter element is 180 mesh, and the filtration accuracy of this filter is 90 microns. -Here we can popularize the size of "micron" unit: the average thickness of adult hair is 0.07 mm, which is 70 microns when converted into micron unit.
If we cut off the hair, the cross section of the hair is a circle, and the diameter of this circle is 70 microns (if you can't imagine it, you can see it in the picture). So we can imagine how tiny the particle impurities with a diameter of 70 microns are. Well, we know that the accuracy of the first "coarse filtration" of the tanker is 90 microns.
Oil filters are divided into "first pass" and "second pass"
90 microns and 30 microns respectively.
As long as particles over 90 microns in diameter are "removed" from gasoline, can they be added to the car? You think too much! The gas station has a second filter. This second filter is a paper filter, the filter density is 500 mesh, and the corresponding accuracy standard is 30 microns! (For gasoline only, the filtration standard of diesel oil is 250 mesh /60 micron)
What is the concept of 30 microns, that is, less than half the diameter of hair? You know, most pollen is 30~40 microns in diameter. After this step of filtration, gasoline will flow from the fuel gun into the fuel tank of your car.
There are "imported filter funnels" on the market.
But cars have their own "gasoline filters"
You know, some so-called "high-precision fuel filter funnels" originated in the United States once sold very well in China. At the beginning of the advertisement, the slogan "There are many impurities in domestic gasoline, so it is necessary to filter one more". But let's look back at the filtration accuracy of those products. What is the low end 127 micron, the middle end 76 micron and the high end 12 micron?
The filtration accuracy of low-end goods is not as "pure" as the gasoline from the tanker! So 12 micron high-end products seem to have a certain filtering effect? Theoretically, it seems that this statement is correct. But don't forget, there is also a "gasoline filter" in the oil circuit of the car!
So what is the filtering effect of the gasoline filter? Many articles and advertisements say that "the filtration level of automobile gasoline filters ranges from 25 to 40 microns" ... but today I want to say that these are all old things! !
In the era of direct injection, cars have their own "steam filters"
The level of filtration accuracy is scary!
Today's engine has already developed into the era of in-cylinder direct injection, and the matching gasoline filter has already been updated n times! At present, the precision of high-quality gasoline filter elements of big brands is in accordance with 2500 mesh /5 micron level! For example, BMW's original filter grade is 4 microns, and top brands such as WIX or Sofema already have N kinds of abnormal filter grades of 2 microns! !
What level has this reached? Everybody! The filtering accuracy of surgical masks used in hospitals is 4 microns! What is the practical significance of this high-end "imported fuel filter funnel" reaching 12 micron? In fact, whether it is the "secondary filtration" of a gas station or the gasoline filter element of an automobile, in addition to filtering particulate impurities, it also has a very efficient "water removal" function, which can separate water. Informal gas stations "God knows"! Gasoline that is not carefully filtered will enter your fuel tank with impurities and moisture!
See the tanker turn around and leave?
That's right! But your luck is not that bad.
So the gasoline from the underground fuel tank of the gas station to the engine of your car is filtered layer by layer, and finally the rust, dust, sludge and moisture are gone. -so the "gasoline impurity theory" is not established at all! ! So, is it true to "go to the gas station and see the tanker directly"?
In fact, the core idea of this argument is: "When a tanker pours oil into an underground oil tank, it will stir up the sediment, moisture and other things deposited at the bottom of the oil tank", so that the gasoline sprayed by the refueling gun will be "dirty". -In fact, from the whole process of gasoline filtration, the gasoline added to the car can still meet the standard because there is enough filtration interception.
But! ! ! After all, the "secondary filtration" of the tanker can only block particulate impurities above 30 microns, so impurities less than 30 microns will enter the automobile fuel tank! Although the car itself has a "gasoline filter" that can block impurities above 5 microns, don't forget that impurities between 5 and 30 microns will be deposited on the "gasoline filter" of the car itself.
This will shorten the service life of the gasoline filter in the car. But! ! What is the probability of "the front foot of the gas station unloads oil, and then we refuel in the back foot"? Do you happen to meet this time every time you refuel? If you just happen to meet occasionally, why bother? You turn around and drive to another gas station, and the gas fee on the way is not money.
Say a thousand words, remember one sentence is the key: be sure to go to a regular gas station! And change the gasoline filter regularly! This will be much more reliable than those so-called "tricks and remedies"! Although the impurities in gasoline will be intercepted by the automobile's gasoline filter, the life of the filter is greatly shortened, because the loss is small and it is not cost-effective.
