Judging from the evolution of world history, no sovereign country or nation can sit idly by while its territory is violated. Therefore, it requires our government, our country and our political party to take defending the sovereignty of the Diaoyu Islands as their own responsibility, take defending national territorial security as their goal, and safeguard national interests and dignity. We must regard safeguarding sovereignty integrity as an unshakable historical task.
However, with a clear mission, it is not necessarily possible to achieve the goal. At present, the international situation is complicated. For example, neighboring countries such as Japan have been testing China's bottom line by diplomatic means of "advancing two and retreating one", and the western world led by the United States still lists China as its most powerful opponent and even target. If China takes a wrong step in handling the Diaoyu Islands incident, it will easily go into the abyss of war and cannot save itself.
The people of China have been in a state of war for a long time, and people are willing to cherish the hard-won peace time. However, looking back at history, it is not difficult to find that the people of China are definitely not timid and arrogant cowards. From War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression in eight years to the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea, the people of China wrote sacred chapters of national dignity again and again with their lives and blood. Deng Xiaoping said: "The territorial issue cannot be compromised." This is the bottom line of China people that the Japanese have racked their brains to explore. We never want to solve any disputes by force, but for the sake of national justice, we will never bow to any foreign tyrannical forces. This is the consistent answer of Chinese people in history.
Let's go back to the simple incident of "Diaoyu Island Incident" once again. The Japanese brazenly claimed that Diaoyu Island was China's territory, and sent warships to harass and monitor the waters near Diaoyu Island many times, and even illegally detained China citizens. This series of illegal acts of boasting to oneself not only caused condemnation and protest from the authorities in China, but also caused accusations from people with international justice. This kind of behavior in Japan harms others and has profound negative consequences. First, this behavior violates international law and bilateral treaties between the two countries, and it is a shameless behavior without faith. Second, this behavior has hurt the national feelings of the two peoples and cast an indelible shadow on the long-standing friendly exchanges between China and Japan. Third, this kind of behavior totally ignores the warnings of the China government and the protests of the people of China, and it is a hostile attitude of non-cooperation and strong confrontation regardless of the long-term interests of the two countries.
What is worrying is that the Japanese government is stubborn and bent on its own way, including expanding the number of maritime self-defense forces on 20 10 and actively demanding that the United States intervene in the Diaoyu Islands. The Japanese cabinet has been repeatedly proposed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to send troops to the Diaoyu Islands. It is obvious from a series of actions of the Japanese government that the Japanese are determined to win the Diaoyu Islands, which makes China even more hopeless on the issue of territorial sovereignty. So once the conditions are ripe, it will trigger a war around fishing. Although this is what the people of both countries do not want to see.
What is even more worrying, however, is that the attitude of Taiwan Province authorities plays a decisive role in the issue of Taiwan Province Province, which is sandwiched between China inland and Japanese waters. There are three reasons: the geographical location of Diaoyu Island and Taiwan Province Province, and the subtle relationship between Taiwan Province Province and Chinese mainland and Japan. Third, the cooperative relationship between Taiwan Province Province and Japan and the United States.
Diaoyu Island is only over 100 kilometers away from Taiwan Province Province, and it belongs to the actual control of Taiwan Province Province in military strategy. However, with the increasingly frequent military exchanges between the authorities of Taiwan Province Province and the Japanese and American governments in recent years, this area originally controlled by Taiwan Province Province has become a free port where Japanese and American troops can enter and exit by themselves. Diaoyu Island has instead become a military constraint for China, which is also one of the root causes of territorial disputes.
This makes the isolated Diaoyu Islands issue closely related to the cliche in Taiwan Province Province. On the issue of Taiwan Province Province, the China government has always advocated an open and honest attitude, dialogue and cooperation. Although it has achieved little, it has also made a series of substantive breakthroughs in cross-strait three links and economic and trade cooperation, bringing practical benefits to the people on both sides of the strait and deepening cross-strait cooperation. This has also eased the tense cross-strait relations during Chen Shui-bian's reign, and should also be an opportunity for the mainland and Taiwan Province Province to cooperate in resolving the Diaoyu Islands dispute.
The two sides have cooperated many times in history. "Stop the civil war and unite with the outside world" is a slogan that resounds through the sky. Today, the comprehensive quality and national defense level of the people have been greatly improved, and we have more reason to believe in the feasibility of cooperation again. Because only when China people on both sides of the strait unite and act collectively can we defeat the Japanese ambition of occupying China territory and let our national flag fly high on the Diaoyu Islands.
