history

The term "Golden Week" was used by some cinemas after 1948 legislated for continuous holidays, which increased the number of people entering cinemas. At that time, April 29th was to celebrate the birth of Emperor Hirohito of Japan until his death in 1989. Since then, this day has been named "Green Day" to keep the Golden Week a continuous holiday.

From 2007, Green Day will be moved to May 4th, and April 29th will be called Showa Day.

It is still being implemented, and the effect is good.
