Yancheng Prison is located in Dafeng City, a national ecological demonstration city, covering an area of 1.23 million mu. In 2009, the prison focused on the overall requirement of "striving to be the vanguard" of the provincial bureau, aimed at the work orientation of "first-class in the whole province and first in the whole country", worked actively and solidly, and the overall work of the prison developed healthily and steadily. No escape, suicide or assaulting of police officers occurred, and no serious production safety accidents occurred throughout the year, achieving the eleventh year of supervision and safety. Deepening the reform of prison system, the prison economy has developed continuously and healthily, and prison enterprises have been recognized as provincial agricultural science and technology enterprises. The cohesion and combat effectiveness of the police force have been further improved. The prison won the May 1 Labor Award in Jiangsu Province and was rated as an advanced unit of party building in the prison system of the whole province. It is an advanced collective in the "Three * * *" activities (* * construction, * * management and * * security), and * * 62 people were awarded or commended by the provincial bureau or above throughout the year.
