Brief introduction of Baghdad battery
In the Baghdad battery collection of the Iraq Museum in Baghdad, there is a simple small pottery jar. Although its appearance is unremarkable, it is hailed as the most surprising discovery in archaeology. Because although it has a history of about 2,000 years, judging from all the substances contained in the pottery jar and the intention of making it, this pottery jar is like the shell of a battery. This battery was found in the ruins of a Parthian village from 248 BC to 226 BC. Baghdad battery is an artificial handicraft that appeared in the two rivers civilization, dating back to the Parthian era and being considered as opaz.
