To be honest, my first reaction after watching Favorite was chagrin. Just like a carefully prepared exam, it was finally destroyed. It is the kind of sadness that you know the answer clearly but don't answer it, and you are very depressed when you get the score. This is the case with Favorite. A group of such excellent actors jointly created a collective performance, which would have brought the film to a new height. Unfortunately, for one reason or another, the final effect can only be the best after reluctantly! The film has a unique theme, a unique location and a unique perspective-it tells the life of a group of isolated patients in an isolated village through the tone of a dead child. Although the time of confession was in the 1990s, in fact, the concept of time is vague, and even the place is vague-like fables and dreams-between fiction and fact, thinking about many opposing propositions such as life and death, hope and despair, love and hate, strength and weakness. The actors are undoubtedly the biggest attraction of this film, not to mention the amazing performances of Aaron Kwok and Zhang Ziyi, but those supporting roles are really amazing! Pu Cunxin, for example, was a sensation as soon as he appeared. The change in appearance helped him instantly open his previous image. And his performance was really amazing. Especially in the middle section, he rode a motorcycle and wandered along the mountain road, humming "God is my godfather" and his hair was thrown aside. His puffed-up appearance and momentum vividly portrayed the image of a hipster in the rural era.
And Jiang, who is so free and easy in front of the camera. She showed the strong wildness and vitality of the barn, as bright as summer flowers. A grandson who has written all his life in a red notebook; Li Jianhua who stole a red cotton-padded jacket for his daughter-in-law; Wang, whoever uses the horn has no electricity; There is also Tao Zeru who insists on primary school; Even Cai Guoqing, who is so cold and selfish ... every face is so familiar to us, but it looks so strange. They seem to have been enchanted, completely turned into individuals, and melted into a piece of Wang Yang like water. Back to the main character of the film, Aaron Kwok gave the best performance in his acting career. Although it won the Golden Horse Award twice before, it has never been so shocking as Favorite. This role, both in appearance and inside, is a devastating challenge for him. It's hard to focus on the whole movie, just watching him as a Hong Kong actor. What's more, he should not only build with the actors around him, but also with the villagers in remote mountain villages in the inland. External things can rely on clothes, and internal things depend on themselves. He wants to play Zhao Deyi's gangster and coward, and he wants to have enough emotional communication with Zhang Ziyi. This role is a test of skill, and it doesn't need traces at the same time. I believe that after this movie, Guo Tianwang's career will no longer be limited. He can really say that he can play anything. As for Zhang Ziyi, we seem to have seen the younger brother recruited ten years ago. The naivety and tenacity of mom and dad have been continued in Shang Qinqin. I can see Zhang Ziyi's intentions and efforts. The only regret is that she is still too beautiful, among a group of dusty people. Of course, it can also be understood that her existence itself represents a kind of poetry and yearning for beauty. The problem is that such a group of excellent actors failed to achieve a great work in the end. The jumping of editing and the disorder of narration greatly weaken the tension of the story. In the over-dispersed performance objects, the depression and heaviness of the subject matter have also been weakened. Although the love between pride and Qinqin is a bright color in this desperate life, it is not so touching because of the hasty ending. You obviously expected a more touching and extreme climax, why did it end inexplicably? In that cold reality, mutual "warmth" is so "reality", which is inevitable. I noticed that the film used a lot of wide angles to capture the independence of that small mountain village. What happened seems marginal, but it is so mainstream. Every one of us may get sick, and in the face of death, no one is spared. So, how to live better? Or better yet, dead? In the words of the little boy in the film, "Are the people here happy or are the people there better?" Because none of us are dead, there can be no answer. Only one thing is certain: since you are alive, you must live well. This article is not to criticize Xiaogang Feng's six sins, but to talk about the six "most" if you are the one in Xiaogang Feng's New Year films with homophonic words:
One is the most reassuring. Before entering the cinema, my wife and I were still discussing whether this film is suitable for children and whether there are any scenes that children are taboo. As for Xiaogang Feng's New Year films, there is no shortage. I watched every movie. Based on my past understanding, I don't have to worry about this, and it was proved afterwards. When we arrived at the cinema, the audience were basically young couples. In addition to our family, I found a young couple with children in the front row, which shows that I am not the only one who loves going to the cinema after marriage.
The second is the most unexpected. Xiaogang Feng has watched New Year's films for more than ten years, so he is not familiar with them. The routine techniques and funny lines he used in the film are similar, and even the plot development can be guessed, and the freshness has already weakened. But the most unexpected thing about If You Are the One 2 is that it created a divorce ceremony, which I didn't expect. Looking at the performance of the audience, Sebrina, a divorced woman, even overtook Shu Qi, the protagonist.
San Xiao. Ge You is a specialty, he is good at talking, and his Feng humor is everywhere. Judging from the reaction of my audience, the most hilarious scene was the scene when Shu Qi met her boyfriend Ge You drunk and fainted in the toilet. The waiter opened the door and came in, mistaking it for her father and asking her if she wanted to help him.
The fourth is the most refreshing. I once wrote in a blog post "The Beauty in Xiaogang Feng's Movies": In some movies, the audience is not attracted by the plot, but by the beauty inside. "If You Are the One 2" inherits the advantages of "If You Are the One", and the scenery of Beijing 798, Mutianyu Great Wall, Sanya Beach and so on, which have been approved as pseudo-art areas, is very beautiful. It can be said that Xiaogang Feng is not only the originator of commercial films in China, but also the experimenter of tourism and holiday films in China.
Five is the heaviest. Sun's role in The Funeral of the Living discusses the serious topic of how people face death and how to live. It's hard to relax with a heavy heart. Wang Shuo is a film screenwriter, and in this passage, the shadow of cynicism of Wang Shuo's generation is also reproduced. For children, this topic is too sensitive and sad. My daughter can't sit in the cinema for a long time, so I took the opportunity to avoid it and take her to the door to play.
Six is the last one. "If You Are the One 2" is a sequel, and there are 3 or 4 movies ... 2 later, the story can go on indefinitely, but I feel that Xiaogang Feng has not made much breakthrough in this film, and his directing career seems to be coming to an end.
