There are many military commanders with peculiar personalities in the history of the Three Kingdoms, among which the most mysterious and bizarre one is Zhang Jiao. Zhang Jiao was one of the main figures in the Yellow Scarf Uprising in the Three Kingdoms Period. Claiming to be the general of heaven, he founded Taiping Road. Although his power was suppressed by the rulers at that time, his mysterious image has always been talked about by future generations.
Zhang Jiao was born in Zhuo Jun at the end of the Han Dynasty, when the world was in turmoil and people were unstable. He was smart and wise since childhood, and he was good at studying strange techniques and methods. He traveled around the world, dabbling in history, magic, sacrifice and Oracle Bone Inscriptions, which made him have a good study of folk beliefs and metaphysical martial arts. After the establishment of Taiping Road, Zhang Jiao led the Yellow Scarf Army to become a great general with its mysterious color and influence, and the army controlled many areas.
In his speech, Zhang Jiao often changed his expression, danced, spat and made strange words, which puzzled the Yellow Scarf Army. He can also cast witchcraft spells and attack the enemy with various spells. Especially in the yellow turban insurrectionary under his leadership, the slogan "Heaven dies, and the yellow sky stands" shows its mystery. This is also one of the reasons why Zhang Jiao's image is unique and unforgettable for later generations.
Although Zhang Jiao was later defeated by Cao Cao in many struggles, his image became one of the most legendary and mysterious military commanders in the history of the Three Kingdoms.
The Historical Life of Zhang Jiao:
Zhang Jiao, Zi Zibu, Han nationality, was one of the leaders of the Yellow Scarf Uprising in the late Eastern Han Dynasty. 155 (the fifth year of Emperor Justin) was born in Zhuo Jun County (now Zhuozhou City, Baoding City, Hebei Province), the son of a teacher. It is said that he has long been interested in strange things such as immortals and ghosts and has certain medical skills.
184 (the first year of Zhong Ping, Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty), the Yellow Scarf Uprising broke out, and Zhang Jiao and his two brothers, Zhang Bao and Sean, preached in Hebei, accumulating a certain reputation and followers. They took advantage of social discontent such as unemployment, landlord tyranny, natural disasters and man-made disasters to promote the "Taiping Road" and call on the people to resist the rulers.
Later, Zhang Jiao brothers and other heroes who took refuge in them attacked Luoyang, the capital, but were suppressed by the Han army. Zhang Bao and Sean were defeated successively, only Zhang Jiao escaped into the mountains, and was finally killed by Orion Zhao Cen.
It is said that Zhang Jiao was exhausted in the battle. When he was chased by pursuers, he broke into an ancestral temple to survive, but only an old man guarded him. He took Zhang Jiao to a shrine and told him that "God is immortal and God is in heaven" and let him find his own way out. Zhang Jiao continued to be superstitious, but was soon killed by Zhao Cen.
