Manager, not MBA
Some people say that MBA has learned many methods, skills and experiences in boiling water. As a result, I went to the enterprise and couldn't even find the kettle. This is a bit ridiculous to say.

Although this is a joke, it also induces us to think more deeply-managers rather than MBA.

Mintzberg, a management guru, deeply reflected on MBA. What can MBA education give and what can't it give?

He told us how to practice to be a qualified manager.

Mintzberg's management thought includes three dimensions:

1-belongs to the Anglo-American school which emphasizes experience, demonstration and induction in management. (instead of the continental school that emphasizes rational reasoning and deduction)

2- Emphasizing the progressive trend of equality, participation and interaction. (instead of emphasizing the strength of management, worshiping the superhuman ability and conservative tendency of CEO and management)

3- A practical school that emphasizes the benign combination of theory and practice (an academic school that insists on imitating natural science and tries to build management into a professional discipline with the same academic dignity as natural science in universities). )

He put forward that management is also a skill, which is added on the basis of science and art, and formed his management ternary theory.

Mintzberg's image compares science, art and skills to land (reason), air (spirit) and ocean (sense). )

Self-management ~ self-reflection (encouraging the true self)

Managing Organization ~ Analyzing Mental Model (Setting Functional Framework Integration)

Manage the situation ~ develop a mental model (look inward and integrate analysis and thinking into the situation)

Management relationship ~ cooperation mode (to unify the informality, clarity, rationality and formality of the hidden society. Realize the integration from the individual level to the company, between the state and society. )

Management change ~ action mode (change yourself first, then change others. Both macro and micro aspects and individuals need to change. )

Utility generally refers to a measure for consumers to meet their own needs and desires through consumption or enjoyment of leisure.

We can all realize that the generation of excellent insight is like searching for gold in the sand. The explorer must look for it in many mud and stones until it appears as soon as possible.

In the ever-changing AI era of the Internet, rapid and drastic changes are what people are eagerly looking forward to now. China's process of learning management from the west, like the whole process of China learning from the west, also presents a progressive process from the tool level to the system level, and then from the system level to the ideological level.

Instrument level includes various analytical methods, techniques and tools. The system level includes specific management systems such as governance structure, organizational structure and business process. The ideological level includes values, beliefs and presuppositions, which are embodied in leadership, corporate culture and social capital. The process school represented by mintzberg belongs to the ideological level to a great extent.
