GPRS is upgraded on the basis of the original GSM network. Besides, I am not familiar with PHS, so I have no chance to use it. I only know that PHS can't roam at present, and it is said that it will start roaming in the near future. However, considering that China Northern Telecom (Netcom) and China Southern Telecom belong to different companies, it is estimated that PHS will be difficult to achieve nationwide roaming in a short time.
