Geographical location: Pishan County is located in the south of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, the southern edge of Taklimakan Desert and the northern foot of Karakorum Mountain. It borders Hotan County and Mo Yuxian in the east, Yecheng County in the west, Kashmir in the south, India and Pakistan in the actual control area, and Makati County and bachu county in the north. The territory is high in the southwest and low in the northeast, with iceberg snow-capped mountains in the south, foothills in the middle and plain Gobi desert in the north. Mountains account for 37.9%, plains for 22.6% and deserts for 39.5%. There are five mountains and rivers in the plain area, with surface water resources of 223 1 100 million cubic meters and groundwater recharge of 410.40 billion cubic meters.
