In addition, for the newly bought notebook computer, because its screen is very fragile, manufacturers often stick a protective film outside the screen to protect the screen. This protective film needs to be removed before use, because if it is not removed, it will seriously affect the display effect of the screen image. In the process of uncovering, you need to pay attention. Some computers have tight screen protection films. Be sure to open it slowly and tear off the protective film step by step along the corner of the screen. Do not use too much force or too much force, so as not to damage the screen and make it prematurely age and yellow. I would like to remind notebook computer users that it is best not to throw away the removed screen protective film and keep it for future maintenance. We will introduce the specific methods later.
For some meticulous users, you can also consider looking for some screen protective films, plastic stickers and other film materials that you like, and sticking them in places that are easy to wear, such as hand rests, to better care for your love machine. Similar designs can also be seen in some notebook computers such as Sony and Acer, which pay great attention to the details of use (see Figure 2). In actual use, we suggest that you try not to use your laptop with watches, bracelets and other items, because it is easy to inadvertently seriously wear the wrist rest and leave scars on your laptop.
In addition, it is very necessary to choose a high-quality computer bag. After all, most laptops are born to be taken away, and a suitable computer bag can naturally give them the most intimate protection. This point should be paid more attention to for new notebook computer users. Not all the original packaging of notebook computers is really suitable. Compared with ordinary office Bao Butong, a truly well-designed computer bag must first have sufficient strength and protective interlayer to support a safe and comfortable "love nest" for notebook computers. However, ordinary office bags are often unable to effectively isolate the backlog and collision of the outside world because of their large space and soft border design. Secondly, there should be a reasonable design of accessories warehouse, for example, the power supply should be placed next to the side of the notebook computer to avoid scratching the LCD screen of the notebook computer when the power plug is accidentally squeezed (see Figure 3). At the same time, the computer bag should also have certain waterproof ability.
Second, the daily maintenance
As a portable mobile computing device, notebook computer has actually done a lot of work in terms of durability, but even the sturdy notebook computer will fail because of the negligence of users in the use process. So how to make users try to avoid mistakes in daily use is the main problem we discuss in this paragraph.
screen saver
We talked about the protective film of the screen in the last paragraph. We suggest that you stick this protective film on your laptop when you are not using it, and then take it off when you are using it. This can effectively protect the chemical coating on the outer layer of the screen and prevent the outermost coating from premature oxidation. In the process of using the notebook computer, users should never easily point/press the LCD screen with their hands, nor touch the screen with hard objects. If you don't pay attention often, there will be scars such as white marks on the LCD screen. After a long time, you will regret it. New machines are usually packed in a layer of cotton paper. You can also put this layer of cotton paper between the screen and keyboard of your laptop, thus reducing the wear between the screen and the sanitary cap. If your laptop uses a pointing stick, we also recommend that you take off the pointing stick cap and store it separately when you take your laptop out for a long trip to avoid damaging the screen (see Figure 4).
Moisture is the "natural enemy" of notebook computers. Besides trying to avoid drinking and eating fruit in front of the computer, we should also be careful not to put the machine in a damp place. Severe humidity will damage the components inside the LCD screen. It is particularly noteworthy that in winter and summer, when entering or leaving a room with heating or air conditioning, a large temperature difference will also lead to "dew condensation". At this time, the user may power on the LCD, which may also lead to the corrosion of the LCD electrodes and cause permanent damage. Therefore, we also suggest that the change of your ambient temperature should not be greater than 10℃/ 10min. Once the screen is flooded, if it is found that there is fog on the screen surface just before starting, wipe it gently with a soft cloth before starting. If moisture has entered the LCD, you should put the LCD in a warmer place, such as under a desk lamp, and gradually evaporate the moisture inside. In the rainy season, everyone should also pay attention to running the laptop regularly for a period of time to heat the components and disperse the moisture. It is best to put a small bag of moisture-proof agent in the notebook bag to create a good home for the notebook computer.
For the maintenance of the screen, in addition to paying attention to the above problems, you can also cooperate manually or by software. Because the life of LCD is much shorter than that of CRT, the aging speed is much faster, so we need to pay special attention when using it. For example, in the power management interface, set the time interval for automatically turning off the screen when the computer is unresponsive, or you can simply cultivate the habit of turning off the screen when the laptop is not used for a long time to reduce unnecessary screen loss. In addition, in order to delay the aging of LCD screen, we should also pay attention to avoid long-term direct exposure to strong sunlight, try to use moderate brightness/contrast, and reduce the long-term display of fixed patterns (to avoid local excessive aging). Finally, always wipe the screen with a special soft brush, glasses cloth, ear washing ball, etc. If necessary, we can use neutral detergent or a small amount of water to clean the surface stains. These tips are very beneficial to LCD screens.
Hard disk and optical drive maintenance
As the part of the computer that mainly works by mechanical movement, it is also the most easily broken part, so special attention should be paid to protection. First of all, we should pay attention to try not to move the laptop too fast when the hard disk is running, and of course, don't suddenly hit the laptop. Although the seismic performance of notebook computer hard disk is much better than that of desktop hard disk, its principle is the same as that of desktop hard disk after all. The head arm floats above the disk at a speed of 4200r/min or even higher, and sudden impact or even slight vibration will have serious consequences. As we all know, the loss caused by hard disk damage is the biggest of all hardware damage, and sometimes it can be said to be devastating. Therefore, we advise the majority of laptop users not to let the laptop vibrate when working on the hard disk, for example, in the process of copying files, so as to protect your hard disk and protect your most important data to the maximum extent. For the important data, we suggest that you regularly use external storage methods (such as CD burning, tape storage, external hard disk or network sharing) for external backup, so as to ensure that the important data is retained at critical moments.
The structure of notebook optical drive is more precise than that of desktop optical drive, so it is more sensitive to dust and stains. In order to avoid the influence of dust, the CD-ROM drive of notebook computers should be taken out when not in use, so as to avoid frequent use of inferior/dirty CDs, reduce the continuous operation of the CD-ROM drive for a long time, and choose virtual CD-ROM drive software to reduce its burden when necessary. Cleaning the optical head regularly with cleaning solution is also an important means to maintain the optical drive of notebook computers. On both sides of the optical drive of the notebook computer, there are guide rails for the tray to access. If the CD is stressed too much, it is easy to aggravate the wear of the guide rail and the tray, increase the gap, and make the tray access unstable, or even unable to eject or close. We can also gently hold the tray of the CD-ROM drive by hand when loading the tray to reduce the pressure on the guide rail.
Fixed point equipment maintenance
Because most notebook computers have their own touch pad or mouse stick instead of the mouse, and many users are accustomed to using these two methods to control the cursor on the screen, it is necessary for us to introduce the daily maintenance skills of these two input devices as common parts of notebook computers. First of all, talk about the maintenance of the touchpad. It's actually quite simple. Touchpads are generally divided into multiple layers, the first layer is a transparent protective layer, and the second layer is a tactile layer. What users need to pay attention to here is the first layer. The main function of this protective layer is to strengthen the wear resistance of the touch panel. Because the surface of the touchpad is often rubbed by fingers, the role of this protective layer is very important. Be careful not to accidentally let hard objects cut this protective film. If this film breaks a little, the others will fall off soon. When the whole protective film falls off, the wear resistance of the touchpad will be very fragile, and long-term friction will easily lead to its failure. Of course, it is also necessary to keep the touch panel clean (see Figure 5).
Let's talk about the mouse stick (also called pointing stick) first. The mouse stick was originally invented by IBM, and its main advantage lies in saving assembly space. Users must pay attention to the intensity of fiddling when using the mouse stick. I have seen many laptop mouse sticks broken. In addition, there is a rubber head on the mouse lever. If users often use it very hard for a long time, it will deteriorate and fall off, so pay more attention to protection at ordinary times. Dirt is also the main problem here. You can use a toothbrush with a little toothpaste to clean it properly.
Keyboard maintenance
Finally, we want to introduce some maintenance skills about our most commonly used keyboards. Because the keyboard is one of the most frequently used components, although many manufacturers have considered its durability, especially the structure has been fully optimized, the problem has come after a long time. Either the key doesn't work well or the letters are worn out. Users should pay attention to the following points when using it: First, don't lose your temper with the keyboard. In our opinion, the biggest killer of the keyboard is yourself. Many computer users can't help tapping the keyboard a few times because of the loss of their jobs after the crash. We remind you that this will damage the soft glue that plays a supporting role in the keyboard keys, and the keys will not bounce up after a long time. Second, try not to eat, smoke or drink water above the laptop, and keep the keyboard clean. Especially, too much liquid enters the keyboard, which is likely to cause short circuit and hardware loss. We hope that users can form a good habit of staying away from laptops when eating or drinking water, so as to minimize the probability of problems and achieve the purpose of protecting laptops. Secondly, we suggest that you can buy a special soft glue for laptop keyboard. This kind of soft glue has many uneven keys, just enough to cover the keyboard of a notebook computer. Waterproof, dustproof and wearable, and the price is not expensive. You can buy it in the general computer market. In addition, it is necessary to regularly clean the dust in the gap between the keys with a cleaning cloth.
For those users whose keyboards are flooded or no longer working, we will teach you a trick. First of all, every button of the laptop can be turned on. For the standard size keys, you can dig from top to bottom with your nails, and then you will see a rubber pad, which is related to the fact that the keys can't be played. For users whose keys can't bounce, you can press this rubber pad by hand. If you can't bounce by yourself, you can replace it with other rubber pads that are not commonly used, or go to the second-hand market of notebook computers to buy one. The price is very cheap, at least much cheaper than taking it to the maintenance station. For users whose keyboards are flooded, you need to dig out all the keys on the flooded one and check them carefully. If you are sure that the liquid has not leaked into the computer, dry it with distilled water or tap water. For drinks, such as Coca-Cola, these drinks will leave sticky sugar after evaporation, so you need to wipe them with low-concentration alcohol. Pay attention to every corner when wiping, especially the rubber pad. Okay, it's that simple, okay? Have you started yet?
Interface maintenance
Of course, for various ports of notebook computers, such as PCMCIA card, VGA interface, etc., we should also pay attention to sealing the interfaces with special buttons or empty cards when not in use to prevent dust from entering the host from these places. At the same time, when you take out your laptop, try to unplug these expansion connection devices to avoid them being put aside, which will lead to loose, twisted or even broken interfaces (see Figure 6).
Third, deep care.
After understanding some daily use and maintenance skills, this paper introduces some means to prolong the life of notebook computers for advanced users. In fact, we also briefly introduced some of the first two parts, and here we will focus on some deep-seated maintenance and nursing skills of notebook computers.
Use the hard disk carefully.
In fact, there are only a few main parts, including hard disk, battery, screen and so on. This is closely related to the life of notebook computers. Ok, let's talk about the hard disk that is the easiest to break! How can we prolong its life? Of course, the first thing is to do what we said in the previous paragraph, and try to avoid violent impact when the hard disk works. After you do this, you should try to extend its life. I don't know if you have noticed that some people often have problems with their laptop hard disks, and some people haven't had problems with their hard disks for a long time. You may find it strange that different people use the same brand and model of notebook computers, but they are all very attentive in appearance. You got it? In fact, the life of the hard disk is mainly determined by the user's usual usage habits. Here are some tips to pay attention to:
1. Try not to start multiple copy tasks in parallel: this will make the operating system frequently move the arm of the hard disk head, accelerate the aging of the head motor, and the head is prone to problems after a long time. The most common fault is that it keeps clicking when it is turned on, and then the hard disk is not recognized. Be careful not to start multiple copy tasks at the same time. You can select multiple files to copy at once, or wait for the last task to complete before copying the next one (see Figure 7).
2. Try not to open multiple applications that need to read data from the hard disk at the same time: in fact, the same principle will also accelerate the aging of the head motor.
3. Regularly arrange the disk (see Figure 8), and if necessary, it is best to format the computer and reinstall the system: Regularly arranging the disk is actually very beneficial to the hard disk, which can rearrange the files on the hard disk in an orderly manner, find them quickly when accessing, improve the addressing efficiency of the hard disk and reduce the movement of the head. In addition, reinstalling the computer can also speed up the running of the program. Because Disk Defragmenter can only rearrange the areas occupied by files that can be moved, the areas occupied by some files that cannot be moved cannot be rearranged. Reloading the system can rearrange the files in the entire boot area, which is better than disk defragmentation.
4. Try to make the hard disk work at low temperature: when the inside of the hard disk is higher than a certain working temperature, it will be deformed due to high temperature, which may lead to problems such as increased friction between the motor and the disk, and increase the chance of hard disk error.
There are still many skills about the use of hard disks. In fact, we are just correcting some common misunderstandings here. Careful users may find more tips. In short, the more careful you use it, the more stable your laptop will be.
Batteries also have a long life.
The next short-lived king is the battery. Some domestic brands of notebook computers are said to have poor batteries, and some even broke down after only half a year. Is it really the fault of these laptop manufacturers? Let's put the manufacturer's question aside for the time being. Do you know that some bad habits are very bad for the battery, which may directly lead to the death of the battery in a short time, so what should be paid attention to in use?
1. Charge the battery as much as possible after it is exhausted, and the battery must be fully charged before use: although the current notebook computers all use lithium batteries, the memory effect is weakened, but bad usage habits will still shorten the life.
2. Don't charge the battery in rainy days: it often thunders in rainy days, and the instantaneous current impact caused by lightning strike is extremely unfavorable to the battery.
3. Regular maintenance of the battery: If the battery can't be completely cleaned and charged every time, it is very beneficial to extend the battery life by charging and discharging at least once every 1 month (that is, charging after being cleaned and fully charged), or using the built-in battery calibration function of BIOS for regular maintenance.
Be careful at two o'clock
Let's talk about two places that are easy to break but less noticeable.
1. Connecting part of laptop screen opening and closing: This part is also very easy to break. Many people's laptops will have the problem that the screen becomes very lively after being used for a period of time. In severe cases, a certain angle can no longer be locked, and it can only be supported by other objects. At the same time, this connection part is easy to crack, so every time you open and close the laptop screen, you should try to be light and slow, and avoid making the screen shake back and forth frequently when using the laptop (for example, in a bumpy car, it is best to let the screen lean on your legs to reduce shaking), so the probability of this problem will be greatly reduced, and the opening and closing speed should not be too fast or too fast!
2. Keys attached to the touchpad or mouse lever on the laptop: This part is also easy to break. We'll tell you a trick. When using the key at ordinary times, press it in the middle position as far as possible, which will make the microswitch inside stress evenly, thus increasing the service life.
So far, we have introduced the maintenance methods and skills of several easily broken parts such as screen, hard disk, keyboard and battery. Of course, this is only the most commonly used part of a large number of notebook computer maintenance skills. I hope you can benefit from our suggestions. In fact, in daily use, we believe that you will also sum up more practical skills than the above to make your laptop work better.
