Located in Kunming, Yunnan Province, Kunming Medical University is the largest medical college integrating teaching, medical treatment and scientific research in Yunnan Province. It is a key construction university in the national "Basic Capacity Building Project of Universities in the Midwest" and a first-class discipline construction university in Yunnan Province. It has been selected into the "Excellent Doctoral Education Training Program" of the Ministry of Education and the pilot program of the National College Students' Innovation and Entrepreneurship Training Program.
It is an international medical talent training base in Yunnan Province, the first batch of overseas students with China government scholarship, and the founding member of South Asia Southeast Asia Medical Education and Health Alliance. Kunming Medical University, formerly known as the Medical Department of Donglu University, was founded in 1933. 1956 was established independently and named Kunming Medical College.
In 20/0/2, Kloc was renamed Kunming Medical University with the approval of the Ministry of Education. 198 10 became the first master's degree awarding unit in China. 1993 was listed as a provincial key institution. 1998 was approved as a doctoral degree awarding unit. 20 10 Yunnan medical college merged. The school has three campuses: Chenggong (main campus), Renmin West Road and Zhengping, covering an area of 1.482 mu.
