Jiang 'an District of Wuhan City is located on the north bank of the Yangtze River and the northeast of Wuhan City, bordering huangpi district in the east, Wuchang District and Hongshan District across the river in the south, Jianghan District along Jianghan Road and Sanyanqiao Road in the west and Dongxihu District in the north. It is one of the central urban areas of Wuhan, with a total area of 80.28 square kilometers and postal code of 430000.
Jiang 'an District is one of the components of Hankou. It was once the national political center and foreign exchange center, the former site of Wuhan Central Committee and the former site of Wuhan National Government. Hankou Concession, located along the Yangtze River in Jiang 'an District, is the third largest foreign concession in China after Tianjin and Shanghai.
