The Artistic Language of the World Expo
A group of lovely "cats" came to the Shanghai World Expo Museum, bringing a wonderful decompression and healing journey to the audience in the post-epidemic era. This is the "Meow Wonderland: Special Exhibition of Children's Art in Belarus" that appeared today.

This year marks the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Belarus. This exhibition collected 50 original paintings by Igor, a representative artist of Belarus naivety. It provides a platform for cooperation and exchange between China and Belarus in the form of an immersive exhibition, and also shows the spiritual outlook and urban concept of the two peoples under the achievements of the "Belt and Road".

The exhibition takes the beautiful urban life as the breakthrough point, selects works that reflect urban culture, natural scenery and people's life, and takes Mimi, which meets the needs and preferences of young people in other times, as the clue, and is divided into four sections: the second hometown, the honorary title: Friends of cats, the peaceful place: the art of life, and the meowing around you: Hello Magic Capital, showing life on earth.

Different from ordinary art exhibitions, this exhibition has carefully designed many immersive scenes and interactive experiences, and used multimedia visual display to make the audience feel "immersive" through the panoramic interactive experience of vision, touch, hearing and taste.

For example, the large-scale interactive game "Doctor Temple" on the ground runs through the whole exhibition. According to the game instructions posted on the base, the audience can move forward while playing until the exit of the exhibition hall is over; The "meow" pretending to be a philharmonic. There is a cat's head outside the square box, and the audience can put their head into the box to take pictures and punch in. In the box, they can see the interesting music frequency of cats singing. Take a photo with Igor in the painting "Self-portrait" and punch in; Children can imitate cats through cat holes and so on. The fourth unit "Around the Meow Star: Hello Magic Capital" will show the selected paintings and photographs.

The exhibition extends beyond the exhibition hall, spelling out "the road of early cats taming human precious history" with the love of historical celebrities for cats. Celebrity cat, the "flying guest" of this exhibition, can guide the audience to doodle and see jokes, and walk step by step to the exhibition hall. In addition, there is a giant gas model cat "Tuan Tuan" for the audience to take pictures and punch in.

Naive art, also known as primitive art, is one of the most direct manifestations of artists' pursuit of emotion. This art school appeared in19th century and early 20th century. Influenced by Bergson's "intuition theory", a group of painters, represented by French painter Henri Rousseau, took Paris as the center in the early 20th century. In their creation, they abandoned the traditional expression of classical art and pursued the natural expression of primitive art, trying to express people's innocence and simplicity through direct and simple impressions, thus giving the most direct inspiration and influence to the emotional pursuit of contemporary painting and causing the viewer to think about the essence of life.

Childish art is very popular in Europe, and its content is close to daily life, reflecting people's lives, thoughts and feelings, which is in line with the theme of the World Expo. The organizer expressed the hope that in the post-epidemic era, with such an easy-to-understand humanistic art, the audience will be inspired to see the city from different perspectives, realize that "life is better", gain a brand-new interesting experience from it, and start a journey to heal the soul.

Throughout the 100-year history of the World Expo, the language of art runs through, because it is an "esperanto" among different civilizations. As an international museum, Shanghai World Expo Museum is also committed to building a platform for international cultural exchanges and becoming a "window to the world" for citizens to get in touch with excellent culture.

Igor Virolleoud, a contemporary artist in Belarus, has brought many works of "cats" this time. He is good at seeing everything around him with clear and delicate eyes and is committed to conveying his ideas through childish artistic brushstrokes. Artists have a soft spot for cats in life. The cats in his works have great personality and are frequent visitors to his works. Based on Igor's childish art paintings, this exhibition constructs an image group from the perspective of cats to observe and tell the story of human beings and cities.

Igor's meow cluster members, trumpet, leopard, Tagore, etc. It is not only the protagonist of the story, but also the epitome of people living in this city at present. In the process of experiencing meow fun, the audience can relive the city where they live, slow down like Igor, and feel the wonderful, kind and surprising things in life.

It is worth mentioning that Igor had an indissoluble bond with the World Expo as early as 20 10, and his paintings were selected by Belarus as the main visual system and exhibition tonality of the whole exhibition hall of Belarus Pavilion in Shanghai World Expo.

Inspired by the story characters in the exhibition, this exhibition independently designed and developed a number of cat-themed IP derivatives, which were released at the same time during the exhibition. The combination of creative culture and creative products, such as: thousands of badges, four-color pencils for finding meow, meow stickers, blind boxes for meow's claws and socks, pillows for meow's fat people, etc. , can enhance the flow of people at the exhibition site, enliven the atmosphere at the scene, and can also directly hit people's hearts through more emotionally penetrating IP scenes, and have emotional resonance with the audience.
