In April, 2007, the mascot and theme slogan of Guangdong National Games began to be publicly collected, with 86 mascot works and tens of thousands of theme slogan works. After selection by relevant experts and scholars in provinces and cities, the opinions of the public were widely solicited and reported to the municipal party committee and municipal government for approval.
