Kunming Medical University, located in Kunming City, Yunnan Province, is the largest medical college integrating teaching, medical treatment and scientific research in Yunnan Province, and one of the key universities under the national "Basic Capacity Building Project for Universities in the Midwest".
Yunnan is a first-class discipline construction university, and has been selected as the pilot program of "Excellent Doctor Education Training Program" of the Ministry of Education and the national college students' innovation and entrepreneurship training program. It is an international medical talent training base in Yunnan Province, the first batch of institutions to recruit foreign students with China government scholarships, and the founding member of South Asia Southeast Asia Medical Education and Medical and Health Alliance.
Kunming Medical University, formerly known as the Medical Department of Donglu University, was founded in 1933. 1956 was set up independently and named Kunming Medical College. In 20/0/2, KLOC was renamed Kunming Medical University with the approval of the Ministry of Education, and 198 1 became the first batch of master's degree awarding units in China.
