Article 10 of the Constitution of the Chinese Young Pioneers stipulates that all children with China nationality who have reached the age of 6 to 14 are willing to join the Young Pioneers and abide by the Young Pioneers' Constitution. With the approval of the Squadron Committee, they can apply to the Young Pioneers Squadron to become members. In fact, most primary school students who join the Young Pioneers are appointed by teachers (class teachers), and most of them have never read or even heard of the Constitution of the Chinese Young Pioneers. In this charter, children who want to join the Young Pioneers are also required to do a good deed. This clause may not be strictly enforced everywhere.
