The life bookstore, which was born out of the book and newspaper agency department of Life Weekly, is consistent with the purpose of Life Weekly: not for profit, but for promoting cultural publishing, focusing on the overall situation of the country and the nation, and providing spiritual food for national liberation, democratic politics and readers. In Zou Taofen's words, it means "serving the society hard and seeking convenience for readers wholeheartedly". Later, Life Bookstore declared that "our aim is to promote culture and serve the society" and took it as the general principle of Life Bookstore's efforts. During the Anti-Japanese War, Life Bookstore put forward three slogans of "carrying forward popular culture, meeting the needs of the Anti-Japanese War and carrying forward the spirit of service".
