I watched the spray and the soaring water column, shining in the night light. Suddenly I heard the loud Olympic melody of the water column flying. I was really moved, and suddenly I felt that the melody was as clear, holy and refreshing as water. I know, that is the melody that only sports can generate, the charm that sports can possess, and the emotion that sports can give me. I found that almost all people, like me, stopped in front of the dancing spring and melody and couldn't help looking up at the transparent water column and the starry night sky. I have a feeling in my heart that a country, a city, can host an Olympic Games, which will make this country, this city and the people here more beautiful. At that moment, you will understand that exercise is not just exercise, it affects everything with its own special charm.
People often say that competitive sports is an art, and it does contain artistic elements, such as its strength and beauty, speed and shape. One of the biggest differences between sports and artistic performances is that sports competitions are intense. Of course, there are competitions in art, such as singing competitions, dancing competitions and piano competitions, but art competitions cannot be equated with sports competitions. Only when a sports competition is played in a few seconds or centimeters can it be fair, open, just and objective. Being able to be in the Olympic Games and being able to interview the Olympic Games in person is really a rare and wonderful experience. When I saw on TV that Samaranch announced that the right to host the 2008 Olympic Games was Beijing, I suddenly had a desire. When I came back from Barcelona, I wrote a short book, Summer in Barcelona. Interviewing my own Olympic Games in the familiar Beijing, I think it will bring me different passion and inspiration and write new things. I remember very clearly that on the morning after the Barcelona Olympic Games, I went to Mount Monjuk specially to see the stadium and the stadium where the Olympic Games were held.
