He graduated from osaka prefecture university Ministry of Engineering, majoring in electrical engineering, and worked as an engineer in an auto parts supplier. 1985, he won the 3 1 Edogawa Luan Bu Prize for his debut novel After School, which means he quit his job and concentrated on writing.
