Orchid was called "the gentleman among flowers" by the ancients, and their ornamental value was considered to be higher than that of pine, bamboo and plum. Bamboo has joints but no flowers, plum has flowers but no leaves, and pine has leaves but no fragrance. Only orchids have flowers, leaves and fragrance. When appreciating orchids, it is said that looking at the leaves is better than looking at the flowers. Orchid leaves are evergreen all year round and have a graceful posture; orchids are plain but not showy; and the fragrance of orchids is even known as "Fragrant Ancestor", "National Fragrance", "The Best Fragrance in the World", etc. One branch in the room fills the room with fragrance. . The two major characteristics of orchid fragrance are that it is rich but not pungent, and the fragrance is long-lasting and penetrating. The orchid has a unique fragrance but is willing to be lonely. It grows in the backcountry and remote areas. It does not compete with other flowers and does not seek to be famous in the world. The ancients called people with noble moral character "gentlemen", and the character of orchids is exactly the character of a gentleman. Confucius once said: An orchid grows in a deep valley and does not lose its fragrance because there is no one there; a gentleman's virtue in cultivating the Tao does not change his virtues because of poverty. It is advocated that a gentleman should behave like an orchid in life, cultivating moral integrity and integrity [13]. Therefore, nine out of ten Chinese literati like orchids. The ancients also referred to poetry as "Orchid Chapter", friendship as "Orchid Friends", and good friends as "Orchid Guests". The orchid is quiet, elegant, simple and clean[14], and is considered to be a typical example of perfect personality among flowers.
