Xin voice and heart picture is an ancient literary theory concept proposed by Yang Xiong, a thinker in the Han Dynasty.
Yang Xiong. Yang Xiong, courtesy name Ziyun, was a native of Pi County, Shu County, now Pidu District, Chengdu City, Sichuan Province. He was a poet and thinker during the Han Dynasty, the fifth grandson of Yang Ji, the prefect of Lujiang, and a disciple of the famous scholar Yan Junping. Showing new paintings and new voices through ideological education was proposed by Yang Xiong.
Yang Xiong admired Sima Xiangru very much in his early years. He imitated Sima Xiangru's "Zixu Fu" and "Shanglin Fu" and wrote "Ganquan Fu", "Yu Lie Fu" and "Changyang Fu" , to whitewash peace and praise the Han Dynasty, which was on the eve of collapse. Therefore, it was known as "Yangma" in later generations.
Yang Xiong had a new understanding of Fu in his later years. In "Fa Yan·My Son", he believed that writing Fu was like "a boy carving insects and carving seals" and "a strong man would not do it"; and believed that his early Fu and Sima Xiangru's poems are the same, both seem to be satirical but are actually persuasive. This understanding had a certain influence on later literary criticism of Fu.
The aesthetic insights put forward by Yang Xiong in "Fayan·Asking God". "The Words of the Dharma: Asking the Gods" points out: "Words are the voice of the heart; writing is the painting of the heart; the voice and the shape are what a gentleman and a villain can see. The voice and painting are the reasons why a gentleman and a villain are emotional." Yang Xiong's "Voice of the Heart and Heart" The theory of "painting" more clearly emphasizes the influence of the author's spiritual sentiment on the works than the pre-Qin "poetry expresses ambition", Mencius's "knowing people and discussing the world", and "the origin of all sounds is generated by the human heart" in "Legends of Music". importance.
Yang Xiong believes that the "words" and "writings" expressed by people should be the true expression of their thoughts and feelings in their "hearts". He said: "Speaking without experience is called arrogance. Is a gentleman arrogant? Not arrogant." The reason why a "gentleman" dares to express his heart is because "a gentleman does not speak, but his words must be accurate." - "Gentleman of Fayan". Therefore, Yang Xiong believes that "the sound, the picture, and the form can be seen by gentlemen and villains."
