As one of the most famous figures in the Water Margin, Song Wu's fighting capacity is beyond doubt. To some extent, he is very much like Qiao Feng in Jin Yong's Tian Ba Long Bu. If it is an ordinary contest, it may not be too good, but under the pressure of the Battle of Shaoshi Mountain, it broke out completely. By the same token, people like He Lin Chong seem to be tied or even slightly superior in normal times, but once they get angry, it is hard to say whether they will win or lose. There are many such examples. Jingyang Gangda is one of them, and Feiyunpu is also one of them.
However, what many people ignore is that people like Song Wu once lost in Water Margin and paid a very high price-an arm. It was Fang La's Bao Yi Dao who cut off his arm. The hero Song Wu is deeply loved by readers of all ages. He is brave and resourceful, affectionate and righteous, and his deeds such as Jingyang killing tigers and Feiyun spreading troubles are widely known. But even a character like Song Wu was defeated once in Water Margin, and he paid the price of an arm.
At the end of this book, Bao is of course born to die. In the process of fighting, Ling Zhen, a thunderbolt from Liangshan, finally released a thunderbolt and a fireball, making Bao die penniless. Song Wu, who experienced the arm-breaking incident, also greatly reduced his rage, and eventually became a monk in Liuhe Hall, becoming one of the few Liangshan heroes who died a good death. From this point of view, it may be more meaningful to arrange the arm to be broken. The unknown man used his magic to wake up another hero. Holding his arm, I gave him something else. This may be the genius of Shi Naian.
