Xu Wenchang, a native of Shaoxing, Zhejiang, was named Wei. He, together with Yang Shen, are called the three great talents of Ming Dynasty. He has made unique achievements in literature, painting and drama, but this is his reputation as an adult. In fact, people talk about the story of his boyhood. Xu Wenchang was born into a lost bureaucratic family. He is a concubine. His father died one hundred days after he was born, and then his biological mother was kicked out of the house. Therefore, Xu Wenchang.
However, this prodigy, who amazed the world, came to the imperial examination eight times, which can be compared with the number of times he committed suicide. Xu Wenchang suffers from intermittent mental illness, often making loud noises in the middle of the night, and once adopted his wife's house. His wife died soon, and then he married another woman. Xu Wenchang was ill-fated, frustrated all his life and became a murderer in his later years. He killed his wife because he suspected that he was having an affair with someone else. He is superior in intelligence.
Xu Wenchang's life story is enough to make people sigh. There are countless stories that happened to him, but what we are going to tell today is a very bizarre story. This story can be found online at any time, and many published books have been included. However, few people know that this is a story that travels through time and space. The narrative version of this story is slightly different, but the general meaning is the same.
One year, the emperor sent a man named Dou Guangnai to Zhejiang as an examiner. It is said that wherever Dou Guangnai went to be an official, there was a sign saying "No reading, no books" to clear the way, which was very ostentatious. Xu Wenchang wanted to see this pretentious surname earlier, so on the day when Dou Guangnai arrived, he deliberately lay naked in the middle of the road so that Dou Guangnai wouldn't find out. Xu Wenchang replied, doing nothing, just basking in thousands of books's stomach.
Obviously, this challenge is very strong. Dou Guangnai has a title. There is no book in the world that he doesn't read. How can he tolerate a teenager calling for help? But he still pretended to be calm and said to Xu Wenchang: Since you have so many books in your stomach, how about I write you a couplet?
Xu Wenchang is good at couplets. As soon as he heard that Dou Guangnai wanted to write couplets with himself, which was just right, he readily agreed.
So, Dou Guangnai wrote the first book on Shaoxing scenic spots:
San' gelao in Nanjie
Dou Guangnai's voice just fell and Xu Wenchang made a bottom allied statement:
Dongguo Liang Jun gate
Nanjie and Dongguo are both Shaoxing place names. The pavilion is old, which means literati, and the military door represents the military commander. The battle was neat and decent, and Dou Guangnai was secretly amazed and had nothing to say.
Next, it's Xu Wenchang's turn to speak. He said, I heard that Master Dou reads everything. I wonder if you have read this book well. Said from the pocket a "perpetual calendar", "perpetual calendar" is just a reference book, usually look up the zodiac auspicious day or something, I believe everyone has turned it over, but who will have nothing to read it, not to mention Dou Guangrui, a Confucian master, will not read this superstitious book seriously, so of course he is not familiar with it, but Xu Wenchang can recite it backwards, and Xu Wenchang's challenge undoubtedly makes Dou Guangrui very familiar.
Later, when Dou Guangnai presided over the examination in Zhejiang Province, he deliberately took "A Man with a Naughty Tongue" as the proposition composition, which seemed to have the intention of revenge, thus causing dissatisfaction among the candidates.
However, people with historical knowledge will laugh when they see Xu Wenchang's legendary story which is difficult to teach, because Xu Wenchang belongs to the Ming Dynasty and Dou Guangrui belongs to the Qing Dynasty. There is a difference of more than two hundred years between them. Why did Dou Guangrui span two hundred years and get involved with Xu Wenchang? I suspect that it may be because Xu Wenchang was from the Jiajing period of the Ming Dynasty, but in the Jiaqing period of the Qing Dynasty, someone confused Jing and Qing, so that Xu Wenchang of Jiajing crossed Jiaqing, so he had the opportunity to attach himself to Dou Guangnai in the Qianlong period.
Some people may ask, was there Dou Guangnai in the Ming Dynasty? The answer is that there is no such person, and Dou Guangnai is really from the Qing Dynasty.
Dou Guangnai is indeed an examiner in Zhejiang Province, and he really takes "the person with naughty tongue" as the test question, which makes the candidates disgusted. It can be seen that he is the same person as the protagonist of the above legendary story. Why does a story that goes against historical facts spread for a long time? In addition, the two protagonists are famous figures, Xu Wenchang is a child prodigy, and Dou Guangnai is also known as a child prodigy.
Dou Guangnai ranked first in children's tests and rural tests, also known as "child prodigy". It is said that a private school teacher used the "full moon" as the upper couplet for students to make the lower couplet. Dou Guangnai's statement about "flat wind" was right, which caused a burst of laughter. But after some explanation, the teacher praised him for being wonderful. Do you know how he explained it?
