In my personal opinion, Guan Hu is probably the most unfamiliar director to Chinese audiences.

In the early days of the TV series, Chen Daoming was Guan Hu's hero. Later in the film industry, Huang Bo was full of praise for Guan Hu, saying: "My film aesthetics come from Guan Hu." In addition to Huang Bo , the movie "Killing" is a perfect combination of Simon Yam, Yu Nan and Su Youpeng. Later, Feng Xiaogang, Xu Qing and the popular Xiaosheng played the role of "Lao Pao'er" in "Old Pao'er". Guan Hu's creations, regardless of subject matter, lineup, and production, seem to come and go with ease, as if he has never seen the public.

Looking back at Guan Hu's work, there will be a surprise of discovering the "treasure boy". After graduating in his early years, he did not make a movie, but became one of the best TV directors in 2000. It is his works that have the classic significance of Chen Daoming. The famous saying of "Black Hole": "I hate having sex with you intellectuals every time I take a shower!" Sliding step by step into the abyss of human nature, it is a real abyss. It’s hard to imagine the beauty of poetry in a domestic TV series.

He later recalled that during the golden age of television, "television in those years actually forced you and brought you closer to people."
