Second, the problems and challenges faced by the college teachers' morality system in the modern market economy environment have a historical process. Over the past 30 years of reform and opening up, with the development of market economy, it has provided a solid material foundation for the construction of teachers' morality and made great achievements, but it still faces a series of problems and challenges. Before the reform and opening up, the status of teachers was low. Although China has a tradition of respecting teachers and attaching importance to education, it was seriously damaged during the Cultural Revolution. Teachers are not respected by students, are poorly paid and will be labeled as smelly intellectuals, so teachers are under great pressure. After the Cultural Revolution, especially after the Third Plenary Session of the Eleventh Central Committee, our party and state promulgated many policies and regulations, which greatly changed the status of teachers. This should be said to be an objective fact. The author believes that the construction of teachers' morality is firstly the social spiritual and ideological recognition of teachers, and secondly the construction of teachers' own moral system. With the development of modern market economy, the status of college teachers has been greatly improved by the state and society, and their material treatment has also been continuously improved. Statistics released by the national authoritative department show that the income of college teachers as a whole has entered the high-income class. However, there are still many problems, mainly because teachers themselves are not strict with the construction of teachers' morality system, pay too much attention to the material connotation of teachers' morality and ignore the spiritual connotation of teachers' morality. In the current social environment and the pursuit of maximum benefits, there are some worrying problems, which are embodied in the following aspects: First, in the modern market environment, many college teachers have no independent personality and lack ideals and beliefs. Independent personality refers to human independence, autonomy and creativity. It requires people to have independent judgment ability in the pursuit of truth and independent spirit in political participation without relying on any external spiritual authority or any realistic political force. A university teacher with no independent personality and empty spirit will feel bored and unbearable in the face of simple and ordinary work. However, a college teacher with independent personality and rich spiritual world is faced with the same job. Although his body is devoted to dull work, he has a lofty and eternal spiritual home in his heart, living in his own spiritual world, and his life is no longer empty. Professor You Xilin, director of the religious research center of Shaanxi Normal University, pointed out that human quality is a system composed of three systems. The primary reason for the lack of teachers' morality in colleges and universities is that teachers themselves do not attach importance to the study of ideals and beliefs, and do not enrich their thoughts and standardize their behavior with scientific ideals and beliefs. Second, many university teachers lack critical spirit and courage to pursue truth. Critical spirit refers to the critical consciousness of never being satisfied, never being closed, questioning and analyzing all inherent knowledge, and promoting the continuous development of human knowledge. The establishment of critical spirit does not directly stem from the ignorance of the old. Finding shortcomings or defects can only produce concrete criticism, but not directly produce critical spirit. Criticism of practice and weapons seems more powerful, but without rational guidance, this criticism will often become narrow, intermittent or destructive. Only practical criticism and weapon criticism under the guidance of rationality can make sense and promote social and technological progress. True rational criticism must depend on critical spirit. It should be said that rational reflection produces critical spirit, which promotes the progress of reason. It can be said that critical spirit is the source of power for social progress and development. "Whether a nation or a culture can establish a true critical spirit is the key to truly encouraging innovation, progress and development." [3] At present, the lack of open and critical academic exchanges among scientists is a common problem in China. Rudenstein, president of Harvard University, famously said, "The faster the social change, the smaller the change of the university, and the more valuable the territory with relatively independent thoughts." Regrettably, at present, it is normal for scientists to lack effective and critical academic exchanges in China, and social criticism and institutional criticism have become scarce voices. For a long time, one of the criteria for evaluating teachers' professional titles in most universities in China is to count the number of published papers. It is easy for teachers to give up projects that take a long time in scientific research and write a large number of papers that lack innovation to meet the requirements of assessment. Under this system, many researchers can only give consideration to the task indicators first, and have no academic achievements. Many researchers have become paper-making machines, and it is unclear whether the purpose of scientific research is to pursue truth or publish articles. Fundamentally speaking, university is the source of knowledge, the temple of science, the cradle of talents and spiritual home, and the symbol and embodiment of knowledge. From the logical starting point, universities are places where scientific and cultural knowledge is produced, passed down and created. Therefore, judging from the unique attributes that distinguish universities from other social industries, universities must do everything for truth, everything for truth and everything for truth. In this sense, our university professors should summon up their tenacious moral ideals and shoulder the social responsibility of turning their views into theories, which is more realistic and critical. Third, many university teachers pursue money worship and only seek profits, forgetting their duty of study and their own duties. These professors pursue money worship in their minds, carry out the concept of profit-seeking, and completely forget their learning responsibilities and their own responsibilities.
