Material wealth and spiritual wealth
Material wealth is external. Although we may own real estate, bankbooks, cars and home appliances, the so-called ownership is only a right to use or keep. Buddhism says that the five rich families, whether natural disasters or man-made disasters, will destroy them. So these external things are illusory, their owners may change at any time, and the inner spiritual wealth is the priceless treasure we can really rely on. We may lose wealth, but we will not lose wisdom; We may lose our health, but we will not lose our compassion; We may lose our family, but we will not lose our love; We may lose our career, but we will not lose our faith. If wisdom, compassion, love and faith will also be lost, it is only because we choose to give up and abandon ourselves without cherishing it. We lament that the world is getting worse and worse and people are not old. In fact, this is precisely because people's spiritual world is poor. Today, the old values have been overthrown, but the new values have not arrived as scheduled. After abandoning the slogan "The poorer you are, the more glorious you are", the long-suppressed material desire was aroused almost endlessly overnight. With the process of social commercialization, people's greed has expanded unprecedentedly: the demand for luxury goods, the demand for wealth accumulation, the demand for power and vanity ... these demands are so urgent that we have no time to realize them step by step. The so-called "money-obsessed", when we only have money left in our eyes, not only professional ethics, but even ethics are gone. Under the banner of money, many people seem to forget their spiritual needs. It is this kind of forgetfulness that puts our hearts in a state of serious imbalance. Why do people need material things so urgently today? Such greedy accumulation of wealth? It is because in our inner world, there is no clear goal to guide, no lofty ideal to drive, no firm belief to support, and even no moral power to restrain. In pursuit of material wealth, we not only ignore the spiritual wealth, but even lose it. When our spiritual world is in ruins, can matter fill the gap? Can it be our lifelong pursuit without regret? Losing material wealth will only temporarily affect life; Once we lose our spiritual wealth, it will not only affect our life, but also affect future generations. It is not difficult to imagine what kind of education a mentally empty parent will give their children. What kind of influence will an old man have on future generations if he forgets his interests and righteousness? Therefore, the construction of spiritual civilization is not an empty slogan, but an urgent task. Because what we do will directly affect our future life, our descendants and the development prospects of mankind. Therefore, we should cultivate deep compassion and love, inner faith and wisdom of life. For life, this is the most important wealth and the source that can benefit from it forever.
