1. Common sense is often unreliable, and taken-for-granted ideas are often wrong.

2. There is no perfect strategic decision. People always pay a price. People always have to balance conflicting goals, conflicting perspectives, and conflicting priorities. The best strategic decisions are only approximately sound and always involve risks.

3. No one can control change, only to stay ahead of change. In uncertain times, change is the rule. But only organizations that see it as their duty to lead change will survive.

In the fall of 1971, Drucker left the Graduate School of Business School of New York University, where he had taught for more than 20 years, and went to the Claremont Graduate School of California in Los Angeles to work as a senior manager for enterprises. Personnel training classes are taught. Not only did this university have little influence at the time, but even now it ranks outside the 50th place in the U.S. business school rankings.

This choice reflected his growing dissatisfaction with management research and teaching at the time. He believes that management should be a comprehensive humanities subject rather than a combination of sub-disciplines. His management philosophy is followed at Claremont Graduate School, where students study not only economics and management, but also history, sociology, law and the natural sciences.
