Di Renjie was falsely accused by a minor official in his early years. Yan Liben, the minister of the Ministry of Industry, was the deposed envoy of Henan Province at that time. During the interrogation, he found that he was a talented person with both political integrity and talent. He praised him: "Confucius said: 'You will know benevolence through observation.' You can really be said to be a treasure in the ocean." Later generations used "the hidden pearl in the ocean" as a metaphor for buried talents or buried talents.

2. Baiyun Qinshe

When Di Renjie was an official in Bingzhou, his parents were far away in Heyang (governing present-day Meng County, Henan Province). He climbed up Taihang Mountain, looked back to the south, and saw a white cloud flying in the air. He said to the people on his left and right: "My parents live under that white cloud." He stood and stared for a long time until the white cloud dispersed before leaving. Later generations used "Baiyun Qinshe", "Baiyun Gufei", etc. as words for visiting a foreign country and missing their parents.

3. A man from Dounan

When Di Renjie was serving as the Bingzhou Dacao, his colleague Zheng Chongzhi had to go far away for official business, but his mother was old and sick. Di Renjie took the initiative to confront Zheng Chongzhi: "Your mother is seriously ill and you are traveling far away. How can you let your relatives worry about you who are thousands of miles away?" He went to see Shi Linrenji, the governor of Bing, and asked to travel on Zheng Chongzhi's behalf.

Lin Renji was very moved. Thinking of the discord between himself and Sima Li Xiaolian, he felt deeply ashamed and took the initiative to reconcile with Li Xiaolian. He often praised Di Renjie to others: "There is only one man named Di Gong south of Beidou." [28] Later generations used "one man from Dou Nan" to describe a unique talent in the world.

4. Prisoners Cry Monument

After the rebellion of King Li Zhen of Yue, Wu Zetian punished the rebellious party and convicted six to seven hundred families and expelled more than 5,000 people. The executioner urged Di Renjie to execute him. However, Di Renjie believed that the verdict was wrong and requested a postponement of execution. He secretly reported to Wu Zetian, thinking that if he was convicted according to this, it would be widely implicated. Moreover, many of these people were forced to rebel and did not do it intentionally. Wu Zetian then issued an edict to pardon their capital crimes and instead sent them to Fengzhou.

When the prisoners passed through Ningzhou, the elders of Ningzhou greeted them in the suburbs and said, "It was our Ambassador Di who saved your lives, right?" The prisoners then supported each other and went to the memorial hall set up by the people for Di Renjie. In front of the stone tablet, he cried bitterly, and then fasted for three days before leaving Ningzhou. After they arrived in Fengzhou, they erected a monument for Di Renjie to praise his kindness.

5. Directly blame the prime minister

After the Prime Minister Zhang Guangfu put down the rebellion of the King of Yue, he allowed his subordinates to use their merit to extort money, but Di Renjie refused. He said angrily: "How dare you, a state official, neglect the marshal?" Di Renjie said seriously: "You led an army of 300,000 to put down the rebellion, but you could not restrain the soldiers, but allowed them to commit violence against the people. King Li Zhen of Yue caused trouble in Henan. Now one Li Zhen died, but ten thousand Li Zhen were born.

Those who were coerced into rebelling voluntarily abandoned the city and surrendered to the court. Why did you indulge the greedy soldiers and hunt down these people? Where are you? Aren't you afraid that the grievances will rise to the sky? If I can ask Shang Fang to kill the sinner, I will be willing to die."?
