When three people walk together, there must be a teacher from me; choose the good ones and follow them, and change the bad ones.
Vernacular definition: If there are many people traveling together, there must be someone among them who can be my teacher. I choose his good aspects to learn from him, and when I see his bad aspects, I correct my own shortcomings.

Writing background:
The book was written in the early Warring States period. Because Qin Shihuang burned books and harassed Confucian scholars, by the Western Han Dynasty, there were only oral transmissions and the notebooks obtained from the wall of Confucius' residence. There are three different versions: twenty chapters of the "Analects of Lu" that were taught orally by the people of Lu.
The Analects of Qi was orally transmitted to the people of Qi in twenty-two chapters. Many of the chapters and sentences in twenty of them are the same as those of the Analects of Lu, but there are two more chapters, "Asking the King" and "Knowing".
The twenty-one chapters of the "Analects of Ancient Chinese" ("The Analects of Confucius") found in the wall of Confucius' residence do not include "Asking the King" and "Knowing", but the "Yao Yue Pian" is included. "Zi Zhangwen" is divided into another article.
Confucius once led some of his disciples to travel around the world for fourteen years, and revised the "Six Classics" in his later years. Confucius created the practice of private lectures. According to legend, he had three thousand disciples and seventy-two virtuous disciples.
After Confucius died, his disciples and his disciples recorded the words, deeds, quotes and thoughts of Confucius and his disciples, and compiled them into the Confucian classic "The Analects of Confucius". "Historical Records: Confucius Family" records his actions.
