With the development of society, smartphones have entered thousands of households, becoming the "treasure in the palm" of primary and secondary school students, the "thorn in the eyes" of teachers, and the "thorn in the flesh" of parents. The issue of where and how to keep smartphones in schools has become the biggest problem for school management, and it has caused a lot of publicity. However, society is progressing and the times are developing. Since we cannot return to the era of "a small country with few people", we naturally cannot lock our children in an ivory tower isolated from the times forever. As educators, we must follow the trend of the times and advance with the times. Our first task is to guide students how to adapt to society, how to rationally use the resources at hand, how to cultivate their own interests and habits, and how to rationally arrange and use their time... …So, regarding the issue of smartphones, it is better to be sparse than blocked. Instead of spending a lot of time chasing and circumventing students' rights to make mistakes, it is better to spend energy on guiding students how to use smartphones as a tool to assist learning and enrich life! I am a Chinese teacher, and I would like to share my practice with the majority of educators from the perspective of "how to use smartphones rationally to promote Chinese teaching" and communicate with each other.
1. The new role of smartphones in Chinese teaching
1. Expand your horizons and broaden your knowledge.
Students, especially students in boarding schools and students in remote places such as mountainous areas, have no TV to watch, no newspapers to read, and no computers to use. A life of reading only books from sages. However, their long-term "reclusive life" has made them conservative in thinking, living a single life, and being seriously out of touch with society and the times. Various news and information platforms on smartphones have just built a bridge for them to communicate with the outside world, allowing them to learn about the situation in Ukraine, the progress of the search for Malaysia Airlines MH370, the rescue situation of the Sewol Cruises and other "world affairs" without leaving school, which has broadened their horizons. , which broadened the knowledge. Smartphones play an important role in this regard.
2. Rich material, knowledgeable and knowledgeable.
① Enrich composition materials. Chinese teaching, especially composition teaching, requires rich materials and strong accumulation. But where do these materials come from? If they are all printed and distributed by teachers, the selection of materials will not be broad enough and will be single. If students purchase relevant books, it will increase the burden on students, and the purchased material books are very easy to become "outdated". However, if students search the Internet themselves, the resources are rich and varied. They can not only find classic famous sayings and aphorisms, but also many vivid examples. Moreover, mobile software such as "Composition Material Collection" and "High School Composition Collection" can be used offline, which not only successfully prevents students from getting lost online, but also does not increase students' financial burden.
② Reduce the burden of recitation.
In middle school and high school, there are a lot of memorized articles, which puts a lot of pressure on students. I guided the students to record the text content through the mobile phone recorder software, so that whether they were queuing up on the playground or before going to bed, they could listen to the text and strengthen their recitation. Use scattered time to memorize and save a large amount of time to do science exercises. In this way, you can arrange your time effectively and not delay the liberal arts content.
③Complete the reading task.
The "Introduction to Classical Books" in each volume of the Chinese textbook published by the People's Education Press involves two or more classics. However, many students are unwilling or unable to spend money to buy books, so Chinese teachers are helpless. , the task can only be completed by playing famous movies. However, movies and books are two different things after all. Although watching movies can understand the storyline, students cannot experience the beauty of words. I guided students to download and install software for reading classics so that they could read classics on their mobile phones. However, reading on mobile phones hurts the eyes after all, so I also suggest that they install the "Lazy Man Listening to Books" software so that they can learn classics by listening. Students can choose either method, or use a combination of both methods with good results. Moreover, "Lazy Man Listens to Books" also has recordings of programs such as "Hundred Schools of Lectures" and "Lectures Now", which can expand students' horizons.
3. Cultivate interest and provide timely feedback.
"Idiom" is a hot and difficult point in the college entrance examination in Chinese.
Idioms have a wide range and a large amount. Students have to spend a lot of effort to sort out and memorize the writing and usage of these words, and it is very easy to get tired. Neither has it been remembered, nor is it difficult to detect whether it is firmly remembered. However, smart software such as "Chinese Character Hero" can solve this big problem. The software disrupts the order of many idioms, and students have to find these words according to the meanings provided. With the level-by-level public relations, students reduce fatigue, relieve stress, and can give timely feedback, knowing in time that they still have something to say. Which words are not remembered firmly or accurately.
4. Save time and reduce costs.
Rational use of smartphones can not only save students a lot of money, but also save school teaching resources. After students have software such as "Essay Materials" and "Chinese Character Hero", teachers can save many test papers. Especially for simple knowledge that does not require explanation, in the past, the method of printing answers or making slides to unify the answers was adopted. After students have smartphones, teachers can upload these contents to the class QQ group, and students can download them by themselves. It saves paper and saves teachers time in making courseware. It can be said that it accomplishes multiple things with one stone.
2. The new role of smartphones in Chinese teaching
The above contents are all functions of smartphones outside class. In fact, smartphones can also be widely used in class. . Become a good partner for students and a good helper for teachers. Teachers can distribute the materials and test papers used in class to students in advance through platforms such as QQ and WeChat, and make slides of answers and knowledge that need to be emphasized for teaching. This is equivalent to establishing an online classroom and achieving paperless chemical teaching. After the lecture, the teacher can send his courseware to the students so that they can consolidate what they have learned. After normal classes, teachers will also copy courseware and other content to the class computer for students to review and take notes. However, the ten minutes between classes are limited, there are many subjects, and there are many students, so it is not widely used. But with smartphones, students are free to study which subject and when. This new role of smartphones in the classroom is beyond the reach of other voice software or even electronic whiteboards because of its low cost and flexible use.
3. New problems arising from smartphones in Chinese teaching.
Of course, even though smartphones have a very superior status and play a very important role, we must pay attention to the adverse problems and consequences caused by their use in teaching.
1. Physical harm.
Long-term use of smartphones can lead to addiction. If students stare at the screen for a long time, their eyes and cervical vertebrae may be injured, and even their memory may be affected. Therefore, teachers should guide students to plan the time for using smartphones and ask them to develop a good habit of doing gymnastics and eye exercises. It is best to plant more green plants in the classroom to relieve their visual fatigue.
2. Indifference to human feelings.
Students who hold their mobile phones for a long time can easily ignore the people around them, which will affect their ability to interact and communicate well in the long run. Teachers should provide timely psychological counseling and design some group activities, which can not only increase their opportunities for mutual communication, but also cultivate their team awareness of division of labor and collaborative operations.
3. Waste of time
A smartphone is equivalent to a handheld computer. After smartphones are used in teaching, teachers should pay attention to cultivating students' self-control. Because students face more and greater temptations. If they are not guided in time, students will use the excuse of studying to indulge in online games, etc., but this will not promote learning and will waste a lot of study time. Teachers must cooperate with parents, not only to provide timely psychological counseling, but also to formulate "Smartphone Usage Standards" to achieve "policy standards", a two-pronged approach, and use both kindness and power.
To sum up, smartphones can already play an important role in teaching, play new roles, and expose many new problems. It can be said that they are not "perfect". However, we can guide students to use mobile phones reasonably and effectively, so that they can actively use information technology to acquire knowledge and seek advantages and avoid disadvantages. There is still a long way to go before smartphones can be used in Chinese teaching and even the teaching of other subjects, and teachers need to study them carefully and use them with caution. But I believe the future is bright.
I will continue to go forward and welcome other teachers to join this team. We will study together, make progress together, and improve together.
