The requirements of Bushido are mainly in several aspects: righteousness, courage, benevolence, courtesy, honesty, reputation, loyalty and self-denial.

"Righteousness" is the strictest teaching in the samurai code, which requires the samurai to abide by righteousness and virtue.

"Courage" requires a soldier to have the spirit of courage and perseverance, as well as high-quality martial arts.

"Benevolence" makes the samurai not become militaristic warriors, but have the virtues of tolerance, friendship, sympathy and pity.

"Rite" is not only etiquette, but also the external expression of feelings and care for others.

"Honesty" requires the samurai to be honest, and at the same time get rid of the temptation from the merchant class.

The consciousness of "reputation" contains the dignity of personality and a clear sense of value. It requires samurai to be willing to pay everything for fame, and have the character of distinguishing right from wrong, maintaining patience and perseverance.

"Loyalty" is crucial. It is the bond between people in various situations, and loyalty to one's master is the creed that warriors must abide by.

"Self-denial and self-surrender" requires samurai to restrain their own selfish desires and not be swayed by desires, so as to serve the monarch and protect neighboring countries and people.
