The last sentence is to make a heart for heaven and earth and a life for the people. Quoted from the Northern Song Dynasty Confucian scholar Zhang Zai's "Hengqu", the full text reads: "Make a heart for heaven and earth, make a life for the people, carry forward the past and forge ahead into the future, and make the world peaceful." It is summarized as "four sentences of horizontal canal" by contemporary philosopher Feng Youlan.

Zhang Zaizi was born in Chang 'an (now Xi 'an, Shaanxi Province) and his ancestral home was Daliang (now Kaifeng, Henan Province). Later, he lived in Hengqu Town, Meixian County, Fengxiang County (now Hengqu Town, Meixian County, Shaanxi Province) and settled down to give lectures. He was called "Mr. Hengqu" by the world. One of the thinkers, educators and founders of Neo-Confucianism in the Northern Song Dynasty, his famous saying of "making a heart for heaven and earth, making a life for the people, connecting the past with the future, and opening up a peaceful and prosperous time" is called "four sentences in a horizontal canal". Because of its conciseness, it has been praised throughout the ages.
