Kafsh Gai Na (1879— 1959)

The representative writer of Japanese aestheticism literature. 1902, the naturalistic novel Flowers of Hell appeared in the literary world, including the novel Plum Rain Season and the essay heartbroken pavilion. Many of his works describe the life of Liuxiang, attack the vulgarity and ugliness of the late Meiji society, and are full of aesthetic concern and nostalgia. His works were banned in World War II. 1952, he was awarded the Cultural Medal by the Japanese government. 1954, he was elected as a member of the Art Institute.
