According to legend, Huai Nan Zi was written by Liu An, a royal family in the Western Han Dynasty, hence its name. On the basis of inheriting the pre-Qin Taoist thought, this book integrates the essence of a hundred schools of thought and plays an irreplaceable role in the study of Qin and Han cultures in later generations. Ban Gu Han Yi Shu Wen Zhi listed it as a miscellaneous school, and The General Catalogue of Sikuquanshu was listed as a miscellaneous school, belonging to the Ministry.
Book Catalogue of Huainanzi
Huai Nan Zi Ji is divided into twenty-one, eight and thirty-three, with the inner chapter discussing Tao, the middle chapter preserving health and the outer chapter miscellaneous. Mainly based on Taoist thought, combining Confucianism, Legalism and Yin and Yang, Huai Nanzi was generally listed as a saint. The Origin of Place Names in Huainan City
It is named because it is located on the south bank of Huaihe River. The name of Huainan first appeared in the fourth year of Emperor Gaozu of Han Dynasty. Liu Bang named Ying Bu as the King of Huainan and Liu Du, the first county in Huainan, which governed Jiujiang, Lujiang, Hengshan and Zhang Yu counties. This is the first time in history that the name Huainan appeared.
