This is Zhang Juzheng's famous saying: The way to govern a country is to be pragmatic rather than empty talk, which is like "pragmatism." Zhang Juzheng was the prime minister in the early Ming Dynasty. The reforms he implemented followed the trend of the times and were close to the people. They aimed to enrich the country and strengthen the army. What he did was not kingly but domineering. Zhang Juzheng believes that knowledge not only understands the mind, but also needs to understand reality. "If you don't understand the physics of human relations, you are ignorant of knowledge." Only when one combines the study and management of politics with solving the national economy and people's livelihood can it be called Confucianism. "Learning does not concern life and cannot be taught; Tao does not concern economics and cannot be used. Therefore, it can be called Confucianism after understanding the world." It is obvious that the reformer Zhang Juzheng was a pragmatic leader. The way of learning focuses on the experience and practical application of the scriptures. Only when you achieve this can you be considered true knowledge.
Zhang Juzheng commented: "Emperor Yao did nothing, but the world was governed." This world can be ruled by one person, but cannot be ruled by one person. Giving full play to people's participation in politics includes a governance concept that combines Confucianism and Taoism. People in the Qing Dynasty had a saying about the history of the Ming Dynasty: There was only one emperor in the Ming Dynasty, and that was Emperor Gao; there was only one prime minister in the Ming Dynasty, and that was Zhang Juzheng. What we are talking about is that the Zhu Ming Dynasty has been passed down from generation to generation in the past three hundred years. Zhu Yuanzhang is the founder of the country, and Zhang Juzheng is the recreater of the national destiny. As far as the author knows, these two people have the same reading hobby, that is, they like "Laozi". Rule by doing nothing! The Ming Dynasty abolished the late Song Dynasty to create the exquisite "Yu Tea Dragon and Phoenix Tea Cake", which is an example.
