Dazai asked Zigong: Is Mr. Kong a saint? Why are there so many skills? Zigong said: This is because God wanted him to become a saint and gave him many skills. Confucius heard this and said: Does Dazai understand me? I lived in poverty as a child, so I learned a lot of despicable skills. Does a true gentleman need to master so many skills?
Not necessary.
