Confucius said: bowing to others and lightly blaming others is far from complaining!
"Bow your head to others and lightly blame others, and you will stay away from complaining", which means that when you encounter problems and things, you should find the reasons from yourself, rely on your own efforts, accumulate favorable factors, try your best to solve the problems, and do things well. Don't arbitrarily put the blame on others, and don't arbitrarily criticize and punish others because of problems and things, so as to stay away from others' dissatisfaction and resentment.

Problems and things are caused by the interaction of internal and external factors. As the saying goes, it takes two hands to make a sound. There is no other slap, even if it is powerful, it just flies in the air and makes no sound.

Then the problem is coming. Since problems and things are caused by both internal and external factors, why does Confucius want people to find reasons from themselves and solve problems or do things well through their own efforts?

Because for a person, the foothold must be himself. So, there are two reasons.

First, putting the blame on others and punishing others with problems and things with their own reasons will lead to others' dissatisfaction and disgust and increase the unfavorable factors in their later life.

Second, Confucius pursues the realm of a gentleman (adult). If a person wants to grow up from childhood (that is, to have a greater realm of life, individual size, and life pattern), he must constantly strengthen himself. Otherwise, even the immediate problems and things will not be solved. How can he solve bigger problems, do bigger things and make greater achievements?

The emergence of problems and things actually gave me an opportunity to strengthen myself, and the way to strengthen myself is to find the reasons from myself, rely on my own efforts, accumulate favorable factors, try my best to solve problems and do things well.

Some people will say that the first reason is very clear in this passage, so what is the basis of the second reason? Look at these words in The Analects:

"Don't worry about knowing yourself, but seek to know" self-denial, courtesy and benevolence; "Don't do to others what you don't want them to do to you;" Ancient scholars for themselves; "If you don't know what others don't know, you can't;" Lutz asked the gentleman.

Confucius said, "Cultivate one's morality with respect." And said, "That's it? Hey: Hey, cultivate self-cultivation and help others. " And said, "That's it? Holmium: cultivate one's morality and protect the people. Cultivate one's morality and protect the people, and you are still sick! " "A gentleman seeks himself"

Confucius said these things, either starting from himself and looking for reasons from himself, or emphasizing his own efforts, not putting the blame on others, or punishing others.

Therefore, Confucius said "be humble and complain about others", not only to "complain about others", but also to make himself stronger and bigger from childhood.
