Ai Qing’s famous sayings are as follows:
1. Personal pain and joy must be integrated into the pain and joy of the times.
2. Even if we are a candle, we should dry it when the candle turns to ashes; even if we are just a match, we should shine at the critical moment; even if our bones rot after we die, and shall become fire to burn in the wilderness.
3. I don’t like lies. No matter how pretentious or high-sounding the lies are, they will not touch people’s hearts. There is a scale in everyone's heart that measures language.
4. Some people are afraid of light, while others are full of hatred for light, because the needle light emitted by the light stings their selfish eyes. All tyrants in history, traitors of all dynasties, and all greedy people have tried every means to imprison light in order to steal wealth and monopolize wealth, because light can awaken people.
5. Why do I always have tears in my eyes? Because I love this land deeply.
6. There is no eternal night in the world, and there is no eternal winter in the world.
