"The Book of Changes", also known as "Book of Changes", is one of my country's classic works. Its content includes two parts: "Jing" and "Zhuan". "Jing" is mainly used for divination, and "Zhuan" mainly It is used to explain the hexagrams and lineaments. The following is a collection of Zhouyi reading notes for everyone. You are welcome to read and learn from them.
Thoughts after reading Zhouyi (1)
I have heard of the book "Zhouyi" when I was very young, but it is much more mysterious than books like "The Analects of Confucius" , I still remember the first time I saw this book from my grandpa. It was Chinese New Year, and my naughty cousin dug out a yellowed book without a cover. As a result, my grandpa took the book very preciously and refused to let his cousin play with it. Grandpa said this was the "Book of Changes", and then my uncles and uncles all said that this book was very good because I was too young to remember it clearly. However, "The Book of Changes" is a good book, and I have known it since I was a child.
As I grow up, I still haven’t read this book. I have a little doubt in my mind: Isn’t this book very famous? How come I don’t see my classmates reading it?
After college, I officially had the opportunity to read this book for professional reasons, and I learned that the "Book of Changes" is also called "The Book of Changes".
After reading it, I realized that this is a book about revealing the typical symbolism of the four hundred and fifty hexagrams Yi and the corresponding judgments of good and bad luck, including the hexagram shapes, hexagrams, and lines of the sixty-four hexagrams. To put it simply, it is similar to reading Feng Shui and fortune telling books. No wonder my grandpa reads it. My grandpa’s hobby is doing feng shui for other people’s buildings.
However, although it is a book about fortune telling, I still read it with great interest, because I learned that if the sky moves vigorously, a gentleman will strive for self-improvement; if the terrain is weak, a gentleman will carry things with great virtue. The famous quote actually comes from "The Book of Changes". I think this book will not be that simple, it should be a book full of philosophy.
As one of the Four Books and Five Classics, "The Book of Changes" was used specifically to predict the future and make decisions on national affairs in ancient times. It also tells how to deal with the relationship between nature and people, and between people. In my opinion, this inevitably contains some unscientific theories, but I think it has its subtleties in terms of culture, as well as in terms of telling people and nature, and how people can succeed.
The sky is moving vigorously, and a gentleman strives to constantly strive for self-improvement. Don't use Qianlong, because the Yang is down. Seeing the dragon again in the field, De Shipu also appears. Work hard all day long and repeat the Tao. Or leaping into the abyss, there is no fault in advancing. The flying dragon is in the sky, and the master has made it. This is the first hexagram "Qian" from the "Book of Changes". The general meaning is: a gentleman should be like the sky, which is constantly moving, even if you are wandering around, you will not give in. If you are a gentleman, your ability to handle things should be like the earth, and there is nothing that cannot be carried. It cannot play a role during the latent period, so we must strengthen our faith, endure and wait, and do not act rashly; when the time has not come, like a dragon diving into the abyss, we should hide and wait for the opportunity; the dragon flying to the sky is a sign that all people in the world will be blessed. Ze; A gentleman should be self-reliant and work tirelessly all day long. When you make a positive choice, when you retreat, you retreat, when you jump, you jump, you can go up or down, when you jump, you jump to the ninth-five position, when you retreat, you retreat into the abyss of the masses, then you can make no mistakes.
This contains profound philosophical implications. For many years, these words have supported and encouraged many people to strive for success. These words teach us that if we want to make a difference, we must strive for self-improvement and have a broad mind. Then we must fully understand our own abilities, have firm beliefs, wait for the time to mature, and finally move towards success bravely and resolutely; and we must be decisive and do If you make a mistake, correct it immediately.
There are many philosophical truths in the "Book of Changes". For example, the cathode must reverse and the anode must arrive. It means that everything should not be too much and must be measured; observe astronomy to observe changes in time; observe humanities, Yihua Cheng Tianxia tells us that we should not only pay attention to the weather and grasp natural changes, but also pay attention to people and handle interpersonal relationships well. This is an extremely important step to achieve success.
"The Book of Changes" is a masterpiece with profound implications in ancient my country. Even today, it still has a profound impact on our country's economy, politics, and culture. When I read "The Book of Changes", I could only understand a very small part of it. There is still a lot of knowledge and philosophical principles hidden in the book. However, I have benefited a lot from just this part. It has taught me a lot about life or how to deal with things. In your leisure time, pick up "The Book of Changes" and read it carefully, I believe you will gain something!
Reflections after reading the Book of Changes (2)
Recently, I have been wandering in the realm of "The Book of Changes" In the book, it was found that Confucius' contribution to the "Book of Changes" was so great that it was simply beyond our imagination. It can even be said that without the guidance and intervention of Confucius, we would have no way to interpret this heavenly book. Without Confucius's "Ten Wings" as wings, it would be difficult for this book to travel through historical time and space and be passed down. Here I will only briefly talk about the shining points of Confucius' thought in Shiyi's "Xici Zhuan".
"Ten Wings" are Confucius's ten articles about the Book of Changes, including "Xiang Zhuan", "Tuan Zhuan" and "Xici Zhuan", each divided into six articles, as well as "Classic Classics" and "Classic Biography". There are four chapters in "Shuo Gua Zhuan", "Xu Gua Zhuan" and "Miscellaneous Gua Zhuan", and there are ten chapters in total. "Wenyan Zhuan" is about the two hexagrams "Qian" and "Kun" and has nothing to do with other hexagrams and lines. "Xu Gua Zhuan" explains the reasons for the order of the sixty-four hexagrams. It is worth studying and I plan to write another article to explain.
"Shuo Gua Zhuan" deduces the eight original hexagrams. The so-called meaning of the hexagrams is Confucius's understanding of the eight hexagrams. "Za Gua Zhuan" talks about the principles of comprehensive hexagrams and wrong hexagrams. These three articles are all specialized discussions. Only "Xici Zhuan" is a very scattered discussion. Some people say that it is equivalent to the general theory of "Yi Jing". There is a certain truth, but it is specious. I think it is not a general theory, but Confucius' interpretation of "Yi Jing". A collection of insights from the Book of Changes.
"Xici Zhuan" is a collection of Confucius's reflections on reading "Yi"
"Xici Zhuan" is divided into twelve chapters each. The statement in "The Original Meaning of the Classic" is more reasonable, and I will follow it today. The first seven chapters of the previous part all belong to the general introduction and interpret the I Ching from different angles. As it says at the beginning: "The heaven is superior and the earth is humble, the universe is fixed." The humble and the high are in the same position, the noble and the humble. Movement and stillness are constant, hardness and softness are broken. ?It is the understanding and interpretation of the overall spirit of the "Book of Changes". The general idea is: The sky is high and noble, the earth is humble and low, and the position of the universe is determined. Once the low and high positions are revealed in turn, things are high and low in their respective places. The movement of the sky and the stillness of the earth have certain laws, and the masculine and feminine qualities are clearly distinct. This is an explanation of the origin of the "Book of Changes" and an understanding of the connection between nature and human activities. The first few sentences of the second chapter say: The sage sets up hexagrams to observe the phenomena, and the words are used to determine the good and bad, and the hardness and softness are pushed together to produce changes. ?The sage set up the hexagrams of the Eight Trigrams to observe the changes in the world, set words on the hexagrams to explain good and bad luck, and used the yin and yang lines to move against each other to produce changes. It is a further explanation of the origin and application of Bagua.
The second chapter of the second part of "Xici Zhuan" says: "In ancient times, Bao Xi was the king of the world. He looked up to observe the phenomena in the sky, looked down to observe the laws on the earth, and observed the writings of birds and beasts. According to the suitability of the earth, the bodies are taken from the near side and the objects from the far side, so he begins to make Bagua to understand the virtues of the gods and to imitate the emotions of all things. ?This passage explains how the Bagua came into being. It is the opening line of the study of the Book of Changes. It has been quoted repeatedly by later generations and is familiar to many people. If we consider the writing of an article or general theory of the I Ching comprehensively, it should be the opening sentence of "Xici Zhuan" and should not appear in the second chapter of the next article. Therefore, I once felt that "Xici Zhuan" was written by Confucius when he was reading "Yi". The disciples did not dare to change positions and maintain the original appearance when narrating, so this situation occurred.
The "Ten Wings" in the "Book of Changes" were passed down by Confucius to his disciple Shang Qu and passed down from generation to generation. Unlike "The Analects of Confucius", "The Analects of Confucius" was compiled collectively by disciples, so the disciples have my own thoughts. "Ten Wings" were directly passed down from Confucius' words by his disciples, and they did not dare to change them casually. Therefore, I say that "Xici Zhuan" is not a general theory, but a collection of Confucius's reflections on reading the Book of Changes.
New wine in old bottles? The carrier of Confucius' thoughts
Confucius once said that he was "statement but not creation", that is, he was stating and inheriting ancient culture rather than creating, so it means that he was doing something All cultural work is well-founded and has been verified by ancient history. When he revised the "Spring and Autumn", he actually revised it on the basis of the original history books of the State of Lu. The so-called "pen is sharpened, the pen is sharpened". As for "Yi", he did not modify the original text but wrote his own essay in an essay. way of feeling as well as opinions. Either a general summary or a separate explanation, using hexagrams and lines to express one's views on the relationship between the universe, heaven and earth, and human society, injecting vivid and rich content such as human life and ethics into the originally boring symbol system, allowing us to see human figure.
Chapter 8 of "Xici Zhuan" basically records Confucius's interpretation of some individual lines, such as: "With people, weep first and then laugh." ?Confucius said: ?The way of a gentleman may come from somewhere, be silent or speak. If two people are of the same mind, their sharpness will cut through metal; if they speak with the same mind, their odor will be as bad as orchid. ?As mentioned earlier, the line of the "Tong Ren" hexagram "First weeps and then laughs". Confucius explained this line: The principle of a gentleman's dealing with others is that sometimes he can travel, sometimes he can live in peace, sometimes he can remain silent, and sometimes he can talk in style . The two of them work together like a sharp blade that can cut through iron like mud. Their will and ideal are the same, and their words are as fragrant as orchids. Emphasize the importance of working together. We often use the idiom "two people of the same mind are as sharp as metal; words of the same mind are as stinky as orchids", but we don't pay much attention to the words of Confucius.
? Lao Qian, a gentleman will eventually die, good luck. ?Confucius said: ?To work without cutting down, to have merit but not to be virtuous. To be extremely generous is to use one's merit to impress others. Those who are virtuous and respectful, polite and courteous, and those who are humble are those who show respect to preserve their position. ?The previous words are the lines of ?Qian Gua?Jiu San. This line should have originally existed and was a language earlier than Confucius. What follows is Confucius’ explanation of this line. The general idea is: to be diligent but not boastful, to be meritorious but not to take credit, and not to think you are virtuous is to be extremely kind and to cede one's credit to subordinates. Morals must be high and etiquette must be humble. The meaning of humility is to preserve one's own virtues and merits with a respectful attitude. Confucius' explanation enriches the content of the original line, makes it more humane, and increases our pleasure in reading.
At the end of the full text of "Xici Zhuan", there are the following sentences: "A traitor will be ashamed of his words; a person who is doubtful will have a few words; a good person will have few words, and an impetuous person will have many words." , His words are false to those who are good, and his words are wrong to those who lose their guard.
?The translation is: ?A person who is about to rebel has shame in his words, a person who has doubts in his heart, his words are squeaky and twiggy, a gentleman speaks concisely, an anxious and radical person talks a lot, and the words that slander good people are free and rambling. , People who have lost their moral integrity and become traitorous speak in roundabout ways. Integrating very profound life experience and strong human touch into the interpretation of the hexagrams and lines of the "Book of Changes" is the key to the "Book of Changes" being valued and passed down.
Comments after reading Zhouyi (3)
I have only heard of "Zhouyi" before. Some people say that it is used for fortune telling, and some say that the invention of the computer is due to the ideas of "Zhouyi" , anyway, in my mind, "The Book of Changes" is profound and a very mysterious knowledge. I recently listened to a wonderful explanation of "The Book of Changes" and was deeply touched. I also had a preliminary understanding of the "Book of Changes".
"The Book of Changes" is indeed the foundation of Chinese traditional culture. The Book of Changes is vast and all-encompassing, covering astronomy, geography, music rhythm, art of war, rhyme, and arithmetic, so as to catch the fire outside. Can all be explained by referring to Yi? The philosophical thoughts in the Book of Changes are also particularly enlightening. I have a lot of thoughts after reading the philosophical thoughts such as "fullness brings harm, modesty benefits", "misfortunes and blessings are caused by each other", "excessive strength will lead to failure, and softness strengthens strength", etc., especially among them? Do misfortune and good fortune come from each other? Dialectical thinking has inspired me a lot.
At the end of last year, my friend got into an accident while driving under the influence, resulting in death. He was detained for criminal detention. He only avoided jail after paying compensation of more than 200,000 yuan. After the accident, my friend often blamed himself and stayed indoors. However, after being persuaded by many friends, life is a long road. After encountering setbacks, you should cheer up and not just sink. My friend gradually came out of these gloomy days. However, the impact of this incident may be unforgettable in his life.
Just as the idea of ??"misfortunes and fortunes are caused by each other" reflected in "The Book of Changes", people should consider the difficulties they will face in the future when they are in good times. Otherwise, they will not be happy and miss Shu, and they may be unbearable when they really encounter difficulties. . My friend made this mistake in his daily life. Life was too good and smooth, and he failed to be prepared for danger in times of peace. As a result, such an accident happened, which was extremely traumatic for everyone. When my friend was in a difficult situation, he started to feel discouraged. At this time, he should also understand the philosophical thought of "Misfortune and fortune are caused by each other" in "The Book of Changes". We should have hope for the future and must not give up. "It's a blessing in disguise, but it's a blessing in disguise." If my friend can remember the lesson in his future life, he may have a better life.
"The Book of Changes" is indeed a heavenly book, which is profound and difficult to understand, but understanding the thoughts on life and doing things in it will benefit you throughout your life. Study with your heart, understand with your heart, find the truth of life from "The Book of Changes", and use the philosophical thinking of "The Book of Changes" to guide your life and work. The road to life may be much smoother. I will study more "Zhouyi" in the future, and hope that more people will understand "Zhouyi".
Remarks after reading the Book of Changes (4)
I have a copy of "The Book of Changes" at home that talks about pictures, and when I have nothing to do, I flip through it casually, and I can't help but be fascinated.
At least 6,000 years ago, our ancestor Fuxi was able to form a cosmic model like the Hetu based on natural numbers, and this model could be integrated with astronomy, geography, calendar, and medical treatment. I am extremely impressed by his original genius. , I repeatedly thought about Fuxi’s original thinking, trying to enter his state.
When reading "The Book of Changes", the first thing you realize is that the Chinese nation respected philosophers very much in ancient times. For example, Fuxi, when he saw the picture of a dragon and a horse carrying the river leaping out of the water by the Yellow River, he realized that "Dai Jiulu" A mathematical model of the universe. If this legend is true, then Fuxi was in a mental state at that time. Of course, this mental illness may be temporary, caused by his hard thinking, and he had hallucinations. Our ancestors respect this kind of mentally ill person as our ancestor because he created an original mathematical model of the universe. The same is true for Dayu. Based on his epiphany to Luo Shu, he understood the principle of mutual generation and mutual restraint, and used this philosophy to cure Dashui. , our ancestors respected him as the patriarch.
Reading "The Book of Changes", the second experience is how to establish your own universe model. It is not based on the philosophy of the predecessors. Philosophy is exclusive. It is not right to establish your own universe model on the basis of the philosophy of the predecessors. Those who may be successful study the philosophical thoughts of their predecessors and learn only how they carried out original philosophical work. At this time, they are just a philosophy worker and enthusiast. A real philosopher must have his own original universe model. Fuxi and Dayu created cosmological models such as Hetu and Luoshu based on natural numbers. This incident inspired us that abstracting and integrating modern mathematics and natural science is a way to establish our own cosmic model.
Remarks after reading the Book of Changes (5)
"Six Taoist Strategies and Three Strategies" says: When the spring path arises, all things flourish; when the summer path grows, all things come into being; when the autumn path converges, all things flourish; when all things seek . There are four seasons of nature, all things are born on the earth, there are people in the world, and benevolent saints tend them. ?
Changes in weather conditions are closely related to changes in human society. The four seasons come and go, just like the world is in chaos; day and night alternate between morning and dusk, just like political power comes and goes. Human life has its ups and downs like the tide; the joys and sorrows of the world are like the waxing and waning of the moon, the grass withers and grows, the country unites and divides; one is full and the other is empty, one is yin and one is yang. Human beings are a part of nature, and the human world is the incarnation of nature. This idea is concentratedly reflected in the book "Book of Changes".
After you read a few pages of "The Book of Changes", you will be deeply attracted by the principles explained in it, and you will sincerely admire the wisdom of the ancient Chinese.
"The Book of Changes" says: "Changes in the Qian Dao depend on life and fate. Maintaining peace and harmony is beneficial to chastity." The first common people came out of Xianning in all countries. ?The effect of Qian Yang Qi is infinite, which can make all things correct their attributes and lifespans, and maintain the Qi of Taihe, so as to embody the right path. The energy of Qian Yang dominates all things, making the world appear peaceful. When the sun is strong at noon, the flowers, plants, trees and trees stretch out their branches, and the green leaves are working hard to carry out photosynthesis, making everything look full of vitality. At night, when the stars and moon are in the sky, the branches and leaves have converged again. At this time, the day belongs to Yang and the night belongs to Yin. The same is true for human society. When the government is clear and the monarchs and ministers are diligent, the virtuous will be successful, the people will be prosperous, the world will be prosperous, and the world will be peaceful. When politics is dark and traitors are in power, books are burned and Confucians are harassed, thieves swarm, lives are devastated, and warlords divide the country. At this time, governance belongs to Yang and chaos belongs to Yin.
What "The Book of Changes" conveys to us is precisely this idea. The essence of "The Book of Changes" also lies in these thoughts. In times of chaos, don’t be too pessimistic, because when summer comes, autumn won’t be far away; in times of chaos, don’t be too pessimistic, because when winter comes, spring won’t be far away. Even people don't have to be afraid of death, death is something that no one can escape. Just like fruits will fall when they are ripe, and it will rain after a clear sky for a long time, there is nothing to be afraid of, everything is running normally according to the laws of nature.
"The Book of Changes" has made us understand a lot. When you are a human being, you must follow the laws of nature in everything you do. What is in line with nature is worthy of promotion; what is contrary to nature is undesirable. But now, human beings are trying every means to conquer and transform nature. Human beings think that technology is already very advanced and seems to be able to compete with nature. But humans do not know that in front of nature, humans will always be naive children. Once nature takes revenge on humans, the disaster will be devastating.
Reading "The Book of Changes" is to understand the relationship between nature and human beings. We actively study "The Book of Changes" and promote the profound spirit of "The Book of Changes" not only to show the wisdom of ancient Chinese people to the world, but also for the future peace and happiness of mankind. Therefore, I think it is very meaningful to calm down and study "The Book of Changes" seriously!
Remarks after reading the Book of Changes (6)
In today's development of modern science and technology, feudalism The system is constantly being abolished, but there is a culture that is contrary to the trend of the times, the Yijing culture. With the advancement of modern people's thoughts, they begin to explore the spiritual food left by their ancestors. Zhu Xi once said: If you don't know how to change things, you can't learn them. Laozi obtained the body of Yi, and Mencius used it. But we still have too many questions about this book, which represents the philosophical thoughts of ancient my country. Without the guidance of Teacher Zeng, I might not be able to understand it and it would be useless.
First of all, I clarified the misunderstanding that I had had for many years. In the past, I always thought that the I Ching was for fortune telling, but Teacher Zeng gave me a good explanation: the words in the I Ching are just for you. It is used as a reference, not to accurately calculate your good, bad, and bad luck. Everything in fortune telling is true: when the truth turns out to be false, the lie turns out to be true. Sometimes it's not believable. What you calculate is a reference tool given to you by God. You can use it or not, just use it according to your own circumstances.
The Book of Changes tells us that everything has a yin and yang aspect. This is how we behave in the world and how we think about problems. The so-called yin and yang are the positive and negative aspects of the opposite. You can't be too yin or too yang. Because everything must be reversed when it reaches its extreme, everything must be balanced. All things are both opposites and unified, mutually reinforcing and interchangeable.
Teacher Zeng said that the first meaning of studying the I Ching is to correct specious concepts, the second is to have mystical morality, and the third is to seek common ground while reserving differences. What is Tao? Tao is the laws of nature. All things grow and mature within the laws of nature, and the I Ching is a system developed based on nature. Therefore, the good and evil, beauty and ugliness in our hearts can only be solved by using nature. Comparison is the most appropriate.
Teacher Zeng once talked about the three talents of heaven, earth and man. There is a picture of Zhang Sancai in the Book of Changes. The upper yang is the sky, the lower yin is the earth, and humans are between the yin and yang between the sky and the earth. The frame of the image is round, so it is also called the unity of heaven and man, which means that humans and the universe are intertwined. coordination.
The issue of changes in the Eight Diagrams has been discussed in the series of poems: the Eight Diagrams are in a row, and the elephants are among them. Hardness and softness push each other, and change occurs in it. It means: the eight trigrams are arranged in an array, and everything in the world changes in it; the eight trigrams are overlapped into sixty-four hexagrams, and the three hundred and eighty-four lines are all in them; the hard and soft lines are passed one by one, and the principles of change are all In it. From this we can see how vast Zhouyi is and the philosophical thoughts it deeply fears.
However, Teacher Zeng also said that everyone only gets a part of it right, and it is difficult to explain it completely. Therefore, if you want to study the Book of Changes, you must be broad and inclusive and respect each other. It's just a little new and insightful, not perfect. What's more, the Book of Changes still requires people to update the Three Saints and establish the Three Ancients. What does my own understanding mean now? It's nothing more than showing off.
After reading Zhouyi (7)
By chance, I came into contact with "Zhouyi". More than twenty years ago, an article stated that China's "Zhouyi" was the father of binary. Without "Zhouyi", computers might have been invented many years later. I work in radio, and binary is the basis of CNC.
In my knowledge, I only heard some old people talking about the book "Zhouyi" at that time, and I understood that "Zhouyi" should be a fortune-telling book. How could it be connected with computers and binary systems? So, I looked for it. Read a copy of Zhouyi. The relationship between "The Book of Changes" and the binary system is very simple, and you will understand it immediately.
However, there are many mysteries and deep philosophies in it that I still haven’t understood. In order to understand it, I later read many versions of "The Book of Changes". Although I didn't understand it too deeply, I also gained a lot of experience after reading it for many years. I have recorded it here for everyone to share.
What kind of book "The Book of Changes" is is being studied and discussed all over the world. This book is all-encompassing, covering astronomy, history, military, philosophy, etc. Just like many of us are studying "A Dream of Red Mansions" now, different worldviews lead to different research results. I am not an expert in this field, and I cannot talk about research, but I think the words and philosophy in the book are worth reading and playing with.
The ancients said: If you don’t read "Book of Changes", you cannot be a general. This statement has certain truth and basis. Looking at several famous strategists in the history of our country, such as Jiang Ziya, Zhang Liang, Zhuge Liang, and the great modern man---Mao Zedong, these people all have in-depth research and attainments on the "Book of Changes".
I read "The Book of Changes". Although I didn't understand anything, I also realized some of the principles of human conduct. The first hexagram in the Xiang Book, the "Qian" hexagram, Qian is Heaven, which means that a gentleman should imitate the virtues of Heaven in order to "constantly strive for self-improvement". This is a warning to us to do everything from beginning to end and not give up halfway; it also says "Qianlong" Don’t use ? means don’t be too aggressive in everything. Do what you can, do what you can, and don’t do what you can’t do. The popular explanation is that the gun will lead the bird; ?kun? hexagram, kun is the earth. , is to teach us to imitate the virtues of the earth, "Hundred Virtue Carrying Things", which teaches us to have a broad mind in life and not to care about everything; "Heng" hexagram, Confucius said in the series of poems, "The way of husband and wife cannot be short-lived," Therefore, "constant" is taught, which teaches us how to be a good couple. To form a couple, we must persist in "constant"; in the hexagram "姤", there is a female attendant on five husbands, which means that women are Lustful, let us "Don't marry this girl"; and "Can Ji Tai Lai" this idiom also comes from "Zhouyi"; "Zhouyi" contains "No" and "Tai" hexagrams, which means that things in the world cannot end. No, when it reaches a certain level, it must be transformed for the better. The principle of "the cathode must be reversed and the anode must come" tells us that as long as we persevere in anything, there is hope for success; this is also in line with Marxist philosophy. Quantitative changes in things must lead to qualitative changes. When it comes to being a person or doing things, you must grasp the meaning of "exposure". Don't overdo anything. After overexertion, it must cause changes in the opposite direction.
In the book "Book of Changes", the concept of "position" runs through the whole book. In particular, the corollary written by Confucius has more elaboration on the relationship between "positions". It mainly means that the heaven is superior and the earth is humble, the king has a king's position, and the ministers have a minister's position; including every hexagram, there is a position relationship. Although this is the feudal thought we criticize, in today's society, there are demands for status everywhere at all times. As I said, you should stay in your position and not go beyond your position. You should say what you should say and do what you should do. Don't talk nonsense about what you shouldn't say. Don't do what you shouldn't do. That will be counterproductive. . This is a very critical link in how we behave and do things.
If someone regards "The Book of Changes" simply as a fortune-telling book, I think it is a big mistake. Yes, "The Book of Changes" involves fortune-telling, but fortune-telling or prediction is only a very small aspect of this book. I am not against fortune telling, but as a person you cannot believe in all fortunes. Nowadays, I sometimes do calculations for fun. When I am indecisive or confused about something, I do the calculations myself. When the hexagram says something right, I will be confident to finish the matter. When something goes wrong, I have to calmly consider the process and results of the matter, and still finish the matter rationally. Don't think that if you don't do well, you won't do anything. That's not right. There are many things for which we have to participate. In the process of participation, we can also learn a lot.
