Introduction to Zhang Jia

Zhangjia Hutuktu is the largest reincarnated living Buddha of the Gelug sect of Tibetan Buddhism in Inner Mongolia, China. He was in charge of Tibetan Buddhism in Inner Mongolia during the Qing Dynasty. The first Zhangjia was born in a family with the surname Zhang. It was originally called the Zhang family and later changed to Zhangjia. Hutuktu means "saint" in Mongolian. Its mother temple is Qinghai Youning Temple (formerly known as Guolong Temple). He and Jebtsundamba are the two major living Buddhas in Mongolia.
