Anecdote: Before Bandai was officially sold in Chinese mainland, the translated names of Gundam in Chinese mainland were mostly translated into Gundam under the influence of Hong Kong. When Bandai registered its name in Chinese mainland, people found that the word Gundam had been registered, so it was renamed Gundam. The same! When I was stationed in Taiwan Province Province, China, I registered the word "Gundam" and changed my name to "Steel Bomb". But because the name "Gundam" has long been deeply rooted in people's hearts, fans everywhere call it "Gundam" even though the mainland and Taiwan Province officials don't call it that.
