In fact, in Shanghai, the future development of any district will not be bad, but the gap comes from comparison. When everyone is in the same district, it doesn't matter if the difference is bigger or smaller, but some of them will be upgraded into cities, and some will stay where they are, which will inevitably lead to a sense of loss.
Jinshan New Town was originally one of the seven suburban new towns planned in Shanghai during the Twelfth Five-Year Plan period. Now, five of the seven new cities,
Jiading, Qingpu, Songjiang, Fengxian and Nanhui will be turned into independent comprehensive node cities, districts and cities will be turned into cities, and Jinshan New City and Chongming will be reduced to "core towns".

Jinshan new city is located in the southwest of Shanghai, far from the city center, relative to the five new cities. Jinshan New Town is also in the southwest of Jinshan District, and its radiation ability to the surrounding area is insufficient. Jinshan District itself also adopts a multi-center development model, so the core position of Jinshan New Town in Jinshan District is not prominent. Compared with the five new cities, it is obviously weak.
Second, the background strength of the economic ranking of the five new cities:
Look at Jinshan District, with an area of 586 square kilometers and a population of 732,000. Jinshan district is weaker than the fifth district. If you only choose five cities, there is nothing to say if you can't rank them.
3. Subway traffic starts from the main city, and there are1/kloc-0 to Jiading New Town, 9 to Songjiang New Town, 17 to Qingpu New Town, 5 to Nanqiao New Town, and 16 to Lingang New Town.
And Jinshan New Town has ... Jinshan Line. Sorry, this is the railway line. Still suffering from the loss of lots, the distance is remote and the subway is far away.
Traffic is not connected with the blood of the main city, and it will inevitably be marginalized.
But will Jinshan New Town be inferior to Five Cities in the future? Not necessarily. The integration of the whole Yangtze River Delta and the game of the Bay Area economy, losing an opportunity does not mean losing everything, so don't care about the gains and losses of one city and one place.
