Retreat for progress and strive for strength-Lao Zi's humble attitude towards life
?

Happiness is complete, waste is straight, depression is surplus, disadvantages are new, less is gained, and more is confused. It is the world wind for saints to embrace one. Don't be self-aware, self-evident, self-destructive and complacent. The husband is only indisputable, so the world can't compete with it. In ancient times, the so-called song was the whole person, so it was not empty! Sincerely return.

Bend to exist, bend to be straight; Low-lying places will be full, and the old ones will be updated; If you take less, you will get it, and if you take too much, you will be confused. Therefore, those who have the means to adhere to this principle as the paradigm of world affairs can show it without self-praise; If you are not self-righteous, you can distinguish right from wrong; If you don't boast, you can get credit; Not self-sustaining, so it can last for a long time. Because he doesn't argue with others, no one in the world can argue with him. In ancient times, the so-called "compromise will save", how can it be empty talk? It is actually achievable.

Laozi used six phrases: "Flexion is the whole, waste is the straight, depression is the surplus, I am new, less is the gain, more is the confusion." It embodies a truth, that is, "compromise". This is a humble attitude towards life. For many creatures except human beings, compromise can save their lives from external harm, which can be defined as a great wisdom to seek self-protection to some extent.

In the biosphere outside human beings, there is still an interlocking food chain, and all kinds of creatures have to exert their survival skills in order to survive. For example, the chameleon is a "fickle" arboreal reptile, and its skin will change with the change of background and temperature, mainly to protect itself from attack and make itself survive. In order to escape the invasion of natural enemies and get close to prey, some reptiles often inadvertently change their body color and then blend in with the surrounding environment. This physiological change is not only conducive to hiding oneself, but also conducive to catching prey. So in nature, it is a well-deserved "master of disguise". Another example is the snake, which is the softest animal. Because of its softness, it can change its shape at will, avoid the enemy's attack and move forward freely without being hindered by the external environment. If a snake is as hard as a stick, can it still move freely? This sounds ridiculous, but the root of the problem lies in its violation of common sense, that is, the "avenue" we call is invisible but can be perceived by human beings. "Virtue" is the embodiment of "Tao", which embodies the inaction of Tao.

Laozi's way of compromise perfection tells us that being too lofty will inevitably lead to jealousy and blow; Being too strong and overbearing will inevitably make too many enemies and will not last long; Being too strict with others is bound to be isolated. While keeping a low profile and compromising can not only avoid harm, but also benefit. This is the choice of the wise. And those who get the Tao know this truth best, and they will always be in the realm of flexion and abolition. Without ideas and differences, there will be no contradiction, no contradiction, no pain, no pain, no inaction, and keep pace with the road. If there is no self in the eyes of the enlightened person, there will naturally be no others or other things, so without anything to cover it, it will naturally be clear and bright, and everything can be seen; Sages have no hierarchy, so naturally there is no standard of right or wrong. They have no right or wrong, and others don't care about good or evil. They don't praise others, they don't harm others, and naturally they will be praised, supported and loved by others. They never boast of their achievements. If you don't have the concept of merits and demerits in your heart, you won't be proud. But ordinary people are different, and they are complacent with their achievements, and they can't wait to let everyone know; Maybe others can tolerate it at first, but more showing off will make others bored, not only get recognition and praise from others, but also lead to irony and sarcasm, which is not worth the candle.

There is no difference in the hearts of saints, who treat everything with the same attitude, do not treat others with special respect, and do not care about fame and fortune. Everything is natural and quiet. They will not compete with others, but will always be integrated with the avenue, and everything comes from the avenue. Don't people who are integrated with the avenue have nothing in the universe, what can they fight for? Those who get the word don't argue with others, and they get nothing; No gain, no loss. No gain and loss, no gain and loss, no gain and loss, no painful torture. No pain is a beautiful realm of life and a beautiful experience of not competing with others for profit. Therefore, compromise is a clever strategy, a good behavior of people on the road to enlightenment, and it can also be said to be a real "great virtue." Only such a person will not only be calm in mind, but also release greater glory in life, because he regards all his efforts as a natural phenomenon, so there will be no concept of "loss". Once he reaches this level, he will really be integrated with the avenue.

Those who keep the Tao are those who restore their nature. Bending can be saved, turning can be direct, low-lying can be filled, dilapidated can create new space, and the confusion of taking too little and getting too much is the concrete manifestation of Tao, so stick to it. The eyes can't see themselves, so they can see things; The mirror can't see itself, so it can reflect the image. If the eyes can see themselves and the mirror can see themselves, then they are too busy serving themselves, where will they care about other things? No self-expression, no self-righteousness, no boasting, no self-esteem, are all indisputable concrete manifestations, so we end up not fighting.

The world thinks that seeking truth from facts is right, compromise is wrong, and compromise is inevitable in doing things in this world according to the laws of nature. So in the end, Lao Tzu once again said, how did the ancients say you could save it? It's totally true. The "integrity" mentioned here means not only saving yourself, saving yourself internally and saving everything externally. Everything is preserved, and I can restore my nature. This is a great straightness.

? Lao Tzu asked people not to rush things, not to "act rashly", but to wait for the opportunity and see what will happen before taking action. Everything has different aspects that are interrelated and opposed to each other. People should have a clear understanding of the pros and cons of things, be prepared for danger in times of peace, seek happiness and prevent problems. We should be broad-minded, open-minded and consider problems comprehensively. We should clearly realize the hidden crisis in happiness, beauty and nobility. "Don't argue" is not doing nothing, not waiting for nothing. Laozi's so-called "indisputable" means that he is not eager to achieve success and is restless. Some things can be achieved without controversy, but the success of some things requires active efforts.

? During the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period, Jin was the most powerful country at that time, dominating for more than one hundred years. Foreign countries compete with Qin, Qi, Chu and Wu for hegemony, and domestic ruling families also conflict with each other. Its intensity is not worse than that between countries, and it can be said that a wonderful history of family mourning and death has been staged. After returning to China to establish the Six big noble System and enfeoffment heroes, more than a dozen big families successively entered the political arena of the State of Jin. Luan's family, Yun's family, Zhao's family, Bank of China's family and Fan's family all devoted themselves for a period of time, but only Zhao, Wei and Han persisted in the end and finally carved up the State of Jin on the basis of the Seven Heroes of the Warring States Period. Among them, Zhao's history is the most wonderful. It rose and fell and was in danger of extinction many times, but it survived. This family can rise in fierce competition, and the key to its revival in failure is the humility of its founder, Zhao Fei.

? Zhao Shuai was known as a saint in his early years and made friends with Jin Wengong and Zhong Er in his youth. Because of the chaos, Zhao was exiled for 19 years, and Zhao always failed. During his exile, Zhao Shuai took care of car ears on the cattle farm and carried food on the road. When he was separated, he would rather be hungry than eat, and left them to Zhong Er. They even tried their best to help Zhong Er make suggestions on the great cause of seeking positions in the Three Kingdoms, and even coerced Zhong Er to achieve great things. Zhong Er was exiled to Qi and lived a comfortable life. He lived for five years and didn't want to leave. Zhao Shuai and other followers conspired to get Zhong Er drunk, put him in a carriage, and began to travel around the world for help, eventually making him the monarch of the State of Jin. After Jin Wengong returned to China, he began to make great contributions. Many people rushed to show their loyalty and contribution in order to get more important positions. Zhao Shuai, who has made great contributions, always takes humility as the principle.

Jin Wengong asked Zhao Liang who could be a marshal, and Zhao Shuai said, "I can. He is fifty years old and still insists on studying. Ancient books on laws and regulations formulated by the late king are a treasure house of moral beliefs. Morality and belief are the foundation of our life. People who can pay attention will never forget the people. Please take this position. " Jin Wengong adopted Zhao's suggestion. Duke Wen also appointed Zhao Shuai as Qing, but Zhao Shuai declined politely. "Luan Zhizhong is cautious and resourceful, and Xu Chen has extensive knowledge, which can be supplemented. I am not as good as them." So Wen Gong appointed Luan Zhi as commander-in-chief and Xian Zhen as lieutenant. After Shao Yi's death, Xian Zhen succeeded as commander-in-chief of Zhong Jun, and later as deputy commander-in-chief of Xia Jun. Jin Wengong asked him to be the next minister, and declined, saying, "All the three achievements were made by Hu Yan. The rule of virtue has achieved remarkable results and he must be appointed. " Wen Gong appointed Hu Yan as the next minister, but Hu Yan declined, saying, "Hu Mao is smarter than my junior minister, and he is older than me. If the fox is not in place, I dare not accept this appointment. " Wen Gong then made Hu Mao the commander-in-chief of the three armed forces and Hu Yan the lieutenant. After Hu Mao's death, Wen Gong sent Zhao Shuai to succeed him as commander in chief of the army. Zhao Shuai also declined politely: "In the battle of Chengpu, those who came first, came later, assisted in running the army well, those who had military exploits should be rewarded, those who helped the king in the right way should be rewarded, and those who were able to complete their duties should also be rewarded. There are three kinds of rewards worth living first, so we must use them more. There are people like me, Zheng Zheng, Xu Ying, Du Xian and so on. Are still there. " Jin Wengong then sent records and commanders to join the army.

? He said: "Zhao failed in three concessions. Everything he did was to defend the country. To abolish words is to abolish morality. " Because of Zhao's failure, Wen Gong held a military parade in Qingyuan, expanding the original army into five armies. Zhao Shuai was appointed commander-in-chief of the new army. After Hu Yan's death, he first asked for the appointment of a deputy commander in chief. Wen Gong said, "Zhao abdicated three times, which is not rude. Modesty is to recommend sages, courtesy is to promote morality. Only by promoting morality can people come. There is nothing to worry about! Please let Zhao Shuai follow you as a lieutenant. " So, Jin Wengong sent Zhao Shuai as an army lieutenant.

? Because of his kindness, when Zhao was born, his family had a good relationship with almost other big families, even many families, paving a good road for his family and his son. So after his death, Zhao Dun soon became the ruler of the State of Jin, and his family became the most prominent family in the State of Jin. The rise of many families is a bloody battle. Many people died after the failure of the struggle, but Zhao Shuai was able to let others do it, which made the family brilliant. It can be described as a model of fighting for success with fun, which is exactly what Laozi said: "If a husband doesn't fight, the world won't fight with him."
