The imperial physician in the palace has always been in love with Zhen Huan since childhood, but his marriage proposal was to no avail. Since Zhen Huan entered the palace, he has been helping Zhen Huan. Later, he fell in love with Meizhuang and gave birth to a daughter (the fourth prince Yurun in the novel). After Shen Meizhuang died, he asked himself to be the vigil of Meizhuang for three years.
Zhen Huan's father, Zhen Yuandao, once saved Wen Shichu's father. He and Zhen Huan were childhood sweethearts and loved each other as brothers and sisters. Later, she became an imperial physician. Before Zhen Huan participated in the draft, she proposed to her to avoid entering the palace, but she was rejected. Zhen Huan was selected into the harem and named Wan Chang Zai (a noble person in the novel). Wen Shichu has been silently guarding her and never leaving her.
An epidemic broke out in the palace. Under the instruction of Concubine Hua, brothers Jiang Cheng and Jiang Shen plagiarized Wen Shichu's old prescription, but the effect was unsatisfactory. However, Wen Shichu's new prescription was so effective that he was already banned by Emperor Yongzheng. (Xuan Ling in the novel) fell in love with Shen Meizhuang, who gave up her heart, and later became the judge of the Taiyuan Hospital on the recommendation of Zhen Huan. Zhen Huan mistakenly wore the old clothes of Empress Chunyuan during the canonization ceremony. The emperor was furious and revoked her concubine (Zhaoyi in the novel) and banned her.
Wen Shichu was ordered to preserve the dragon descendant in Zhen Huan's belly, and found out that the Shuhen glue presented by An Lingrong contained a large amount of musk, which caused Zhen Huan's first miscarriage. After Zhen Huan left the palace, she was entrusted by Shen Meizhuang to travel frequently between Ganlu Temple and Lingyun Peak to help Zhen Huan, who was pregnant with Yunli (Xuanqing in the novel), return to the palace and be named a concubine. Shen Meizhuang coaxed her into drinking the warm wine rewarded by Queen Mother Wuya Chengbi (Zhu Chengbi in the novel), making her pregnant.
The Qi nobleman Guar Jiawen Yuan (Qi concubine Guan Wenyuan in the novel) was accused of having an affair with Concubine Xi (Wan Shu in the novel) under the instigation of Queen Uranara Yixiu (Zhu Yixiu in the novel) Concubine Zhen Huan had an affair and gave birth to a bastard. Although it was proved to be a false accusation, An Lingrong forced her to commit suicide with a knife in the palace to prove her innocence. When Shen Meizhuang heard the news, the reversal of Qi and blood caused dystocia and gave birth to Princess Jinghe (in the novel: The fourth prince Yu Run) later collapsed from blood and died in Wen Shichu's arms. She was posthumously named Concubine Hui (concubine De in the novel).
Wen Shichu was depressed and drank to drown his sorrows. He asked himself to be his vigil for three years for dereliction of duty and placed a family jade pot in his coffin. Three years later, Zhen Huan became pregnant again and was recalled to the palace. It was diagnosed that the fetus in her belly could survive for up to five months, so she was ordered to prepare a miscarriage medicine for her, and successfully framed the queen and had her banned.
