The book Mozi covers many aspects, such as philosophy, logic, military science, engineering, mechanics, geometry, optics and so on. It is an important historical material for studying Mozi and his later studies.
Mozi is divided into two parts: one part records Mozi's words and deeds, expounds Mozi's thoughts, and mainly reflects the thoughts of Mohism in the early period; In the other part, there are six articles, such as Jing Shang, Jing Xia, Jing Shuo Shang, Jing Shuo Xia, Da Qu and Xiao Qu.
Mozi's famous saying
1. "Heaven and earth are not bright, floods are not flowing, fires are not flowing, and Wang De is not in Yao Yao, but a thousand people are long." Mozi said that a person who can become a leader of ten thousand people will never boast about how lofty his virtue is, just as the world does not boast about how bright it is, nor does the flood boast about its clarity, nor does the fire boast about how hot it is. Those who rely on their strength are born, and those who are not bad at their strength are not born. That is to say, we should survive on our own. Just as we often say that relying on mountains will fall down, relying on everyone will run, and only relying on themselves is the most reliable.
2. "Don't believe without words, don't report without virtue, give me a peach and return it with a plum". That's how to reciprocate a peach. This sentence says that a person who breaks his word will not gain the trust of others. Without kindness to others, there will naturally be no return. Pay and gain are relative.
