One hundred thousand whys is the representative work of Soviet popular science writer Miilia. The title of the book is taken from 1907 Nobel Prize in Literature winner Joseph Rudyard Kipling's poem: "Where is 5 thousand? How about 7 thousand? Why is it 100 thousand!" This book was published in 1929, and was quickly translated and introduced to China in a short time, with numerous publishing units, which had a great influence on China's popular science creation. The older generation of popular science writers in China and many popular science writers who grew up in 1950s all benefited from Miriya's works.
