(2) Negation is the link between development and contact.
First, it is a link of development, that is, development is achieved through negation. Dialectical negation is a leap from old quality to new quality, and a transformation from old things to new things. Secondly, it is also a link of contact. Dialectical negation is not a clean break between the old and the new, but a positive and reasonable factor in inheriting and retaining the old. Therefore, negation not only distinguishes between old and new things, but also connects them.
(3) The essence of negation is sublation.
Sublation means that new things both transform and inherit old things; Overcome and maintain relationships. It embodies the unity of the stages and continuity of things.
2 The opposition between dialectical negation and metaphysical negation (1) Dialectical negation holds that negation is self-denial caused by internal contradictions of things; Negation is a link of development and contact, which contains affirmation. As a link between development and contact, negation is sublation, overcoming and retaining.
(2) The metaphysical view of negation holds that negation is external negation and subjective and arbitrary negation; Negation is absolute negation and does not contain affirmation, which not only cuts off the connection of things, but also interrupts development; Its creed is: "Yes, yes, no, no; Other than that, it's nonsense. " Dialectical negation has important methodological significance, which inspires us to adopt a scientific analytical attitude and method for everything. When we look at things, we must see negation in affirmation and affirmation in negation. We cannot affirm everything and deny everything. We should criticize and inherit traditional culture. When dealing with foreign cultures, we should selectively absorb them. To build socialism with China characteristics, we should boldly absorb all the achievements of civilization created by human society, including capitalist society, and at the same time resolutely criticize its decadent things.
Two common examples: 1. On the issue of cultural heritage, the principle of dialectical negation tells us that we should "make the past serve the present and bring forth the new", discard its dross, take its essence, abandon traditional culture and oppose revivalism and nihilism.
On the issue of learning from foreign countries, we are told to critically absorb foreign culture by "making foreign things serve China". We should oppose both wholesale copying and blind xenophobia.
